Mr. Zerolot didn't want to spend money buying paint samples NOR spend money on a color consultant.  My interior in the house now looks like a giant peach.

Lesson of the Day - do a test swatch before painting and don't let ANYONE talk you out of that test swatch.

Sorry to hear about the color.  So what color did you pick?  Sometime the color will grow on you, give it some times and you might feel different about it.

We picked Dry Dune from DE.  It looked really great on those little swatches.  I will wait a week and see how the color settles.

Dry Dune is a little light for me. From our experience paint usually looks lighter on the wall than on the swatch so we usually choose a darker version of the color we like.

It could backfire and be too dark but you can use lighting to minimize that. If it's too light it doesn't look like you even painted the walls and lighting can't fix that.

But if you do like it light, it usually lightens up as it dries... so maybe light peach? ;)

Everything went very well with Brandon of Sunrise Painting Perfect Painting for us.  Not their fault we had trouble picking colors.  Brandon was really nice and really flexible with us.  His crew consisted of really friendly and professional people.  The work is amazing.  Very straight lines over the crown moldings and baseboards.

We chose to paint our garage at the last minute and Brandon accommodated our request as well.  Overall, we are very happy with the job and would recommend them.

Is this the Perfect Painting Co you used?  How did you find them, they are all the way in Hacienda Heights.

We used Perfect Painting in the past for our entire interior, and had a decent experience as well.  Brandon is a nice guy, and his crew was professional.

I was referred to him by a buddy who lives over in Northwood Pointe (he's done a bunch of work in both NWP and NP).

I don't use the 1-877 number.  I call him at 714-315-3838.

I was referred to him by Paula the Color Coach.  I really wish I used Paula ... she would have saved me a ton of money.  Now to repaint parts of the house it will cost me an additional $700.  :(

Here are pictures from the parts of the house I like.  Lighting wasn't perfect so the pictures don't really show how great it really looks.

That looks fine... I would prefer a darker tan but I don't think it's very peachy.

That one wall looks very pink though. :)

The pink was little Zerolot's idea.

I think the paint looks good too!  The only one that struck me as a bit "off" is the one with the pink wall. Doesn't seem to match the "peach" wall? But hard to tell in pictures.

Yeah the pink was VERY pink.  The color palette made it look like a soft pink but in reality is VERY super pink.  Colors are so difficult to figure out.

Meanwhile Dry Dune was supposed to be a soft tan and ended up being peachy tan.

No wonder color consultants get paid the amount they do!

Yea tell me about it. We just had our first coat of paint applied and it's lighter than I would like. Waiting for the final end result before judging the color, etc. Nerve-wracking!

*nod* *nod*

Who knew watching paint dry could be so emotional!
