<blockquote>An investigation of an organic dairy in Colorado led to the suspension of one of the largest organic dairy cattle producers based outside St. Louis, Mo. according to StLToday.com.

Promiseland Livestock LLC., refused to share records with the USDA showing they were complying with organic rules. Promiseland was previously under scrutiny by organic watchdog groups who claimed the livestock company was not following organic practices. Promiseland is located in Falcon, Mo. and sells dairy cattle to organic dairies among which have deals with Target, Wal-Mart and Schnucks.

The USDA questioned Promiseland when they discovered the company was providing the organic dairy in Colorado with cattle that did not meet organic rules. Promiseland refused the USDA on multiple occasions since 2007 to share records. Without the records proving Promiseland was following organic rules, a federal administrative law judge in Washington made the decision to suspend Promiseland of its organic label.
