Economy turned sour since I did the last poll. TEN and SKEK left the forum so we lost 2 over 600k but since Mr. Young and his crews troll this site so do not be alarmed to see more over 600k this time around.

I'll actually earn more this year than I did back in 2007 and 2008. The consulting project pays fairly well plus I had my 2008 commission income paid out this year and a few real estate transactions. That being said, my 2010 income will be far below my a fraction of what I earn this year (unless I get onto another consulting project or my business venture takes off).

Economy has yet to impact household income or savings rate. I keep waiting for the hammer to fall on my place of work.

Our financial position has actually improved due to my husband's Master's degree and I finally moved on the pay scale after 5 long years. We both teach in the same district and the district provided an incentive for married couples working in the district to not take health insurance in each name and now we're saving an additional $3600 due to that. Nice to get a raise in this economy. We're also losing 5K a year in preschool costs due to public Kindergarten (hooray!). We'll never be more than 1/2 way up the survey scale, but hey, at least we're both on vacation all summer!

I'm sure Ten still managed to vote in the over 600k club.

He's still watching us..... Hi Ten!

It is interesting to see the same void in the 400k-599k just like last time and over 600k has been instantaneus after the poll posted.

It's 3 people making over $600k/yr....Skek, Ten, and Donald Bren

I am still in that most popular voted index. But this year is looking up.

Couple years back it was double and almost triple of last year.

Part of doing it on your own. You take the good with the bad.

The trick is saving it when its doing good. And cutting back when its bad.

Guess I better hold off on the Ferrari purchase just in case.

Hey USC. I closed that account today.

Something should be happening soon in the news.

It's gonna be a big bank closure because they have around 70 branches in So Cal and have about $7B (roughly 1/2 the sign of IndyMac). The bigger problem with CNB is that it has sister banks that it syndicated loans with (a bank in No Cal and a bank in San Diego) along with 5 other banks, including the parent company bank back in Oak Park, IL. It should be interesting to say the least. It was be truly epic if I got onto an FDIC consulting project that handled closing down CNB.

You have more money passing through both hands everynight than that the the 3 >600k posters combined.

I might be joining you my friend...either at the end of Sept or end of December unless another consulting project pops up between then and now.

IPO - how is your job search going? what type/size companies are you looking at? What kind of role? Good luck with your search.

The wealthiest is not how much you make but how much you saved. You are saving a bundle on housing, goods and services. You might be richer than the top earners.

I thank you, but I can assure you that's absolutely not true. I stopped playing when the Mrs. went back to work. I think I've been to a private game hosted by an IHB member twice since then.

IPO is way too smart for any of us to spend time worrying about. He is and will be just fine. But good luck anyway, IPO.
