I think we will only see a 5% price drop by 2020. But I would not use this dip to buy because I see a potential doomsday scenario beyond 2020 with a US economy slowdown compounded by a China meltdown. If that happens, we could see a 15-20% drop and that will be the buying opportunity.

Easy Nostradamus... you didn't predict Corona.

You were actually very quiet the last 3 months or so when housing prices didn't drop like you expected in 2019.

And now that we have this totally unrelated pandemic that no one mentioned (just like Fed intervention) you are breaking out the "I told you so"s? If I recall correctly, the primary driver for your housing slowdown theory was the backing off of Chinese investments. And for economic slowdown, you kept citing AI and automation.

Let's not be revisionist historians here.

Well, I would hate to get into an argument with IHO, he keeps a pretty good records. I have to believe that and hope that people and business bounce back sooner rather than later.

The stock market is irrelevant for the 99ers like me. Just get back to normal with opening foods and services is all that I pray for. And one will feed on the other to get the wheel grease and grind again.

No need to be salty IHO. I never claimed I predicted corona or said " I was right "

like I said before, if you have a problem with me saying " I came close", go ahead and find another prediction on TI that was closer than mine.

I didn't come on TI for months mainly because I actually went to campaign for Yang. Went canvassing in Iowa and New Hampshire 6 times from Nov through Jan. Even met Elon Musk at a private Yang fundraiser!

I also stop coming on TI in part because it sure gets toxic pretty fast. Thanks for reminding me

waida minutes, this is where I get all my news.

Kings,

You confuse Biden with Bernie. I've been open about my dismay with Bernie.

I am a proud max donor for Yang. I backed him not because I thought he'd win but because he had the best platform. He's the only candidate on Dem side that wants to get away from Income / Payroll tax and replace it with consumption Tax like a VAT. Oh ya, I also agree with UBI.

Kenkoko said:
Maybe he will not be the nominee, but he is the best candidate. I am 100% convinced of that after watching Yang's debate/discussion with Ben Shapiro. That is how political conversation should be. I am tired of labels and identity politics. I am reminded of this every time I  turn on the TV and see AOC or log into TI and see Morekaos posts.

I don't care that he likely will not win. I will keep donating to his campaign and help push his ideas mainstream.

anyway, back to daily gaffes from your future dnc nominee!

I wouldn't be so sure of Biden. Yang just surpassed Kamala Harris in California polls today.

And where was my "dismay" ?

I was noting that Yang was surging in the polls, surpassing Karmala. While Biden, at that time, was slipping in the polls

I think this is what you were looking for except you misread Bernie for Biden

I don't even like Bernie but come on.

by saying you, "wouldn't be so sure of biden," implies your dismay.  it's a trivial thing to argue about at this point because biden will be the dem nominee anyway.

it's okay, i understand your need to walk things back a bit after yang endorsed biden  ;)

Maybe you didn't know but Yang endorsed Biden. Biden was the most receptive to Yang pointing out the impact of the 4th industrial revolution.

FWIW, Biden was my 3rd choice ( very distant 3rd), Tulsi was my 2nd, Yang was 1st.

So that's a weird take. I don't get why pointing out the fact that Biden was slipping in the polls would imply dismay ?

Props to you for this. I had hope... was disappointed he dropped out... need someone different to stir the pot... but not in a Trump way. :)

Dude... how is keeping history straight toxic?

The point is you made some claims based on different criteria and now you *are* saying you were right:

I think we are heading into a deep recession. My prediction in 2018 is turning out to be quite true.

The criteria of your prediction is entirely different from what is happening now. At least admit that.

like I said before, if you have a problem with me saying " I came close", go ahead and find another prediction on TI that was closer than mine.

If no one was close, you can't be closer... no one said "Bat flu will decimate housing and stocks"  in 2018. That's not toxicity, that's fact.

It's not that I have a problem with it, it's just not true.

Dude, you are the one calling me nostradamus. There's no need for you to be condescending.

I didn't pick a fight with you. My comments were replying to another poster and Mety. At least Mety made an effort to clarify he wasn't calling me Satan  ;)

I get it tho. You were the perpetual bullish poster on this forum, so naturally you never liked my contrarian view.

There is no like or dislike. I actually enjoy your contrarian view... just as long as you get your facts straight (like how you accused one of my posts about AI being from a factory worker when it was actually the Amazon head of automation).

And there is no fight here... again.. just putting history back where it belongs.

I am not disagreeing with you or saying you are "wrong"... I just want to include the context for anyone who wasn't here or doesn't remember.

And for your "perpetually bullish" comment... there was a time on IHB where I was telling everyone to rent and wait and see... but after that last drop, experience told me that depending on your financial situation and stability, there can be little upside to waiting.

Oh... and I would wait now (that's for you eyephone).

It must be hard to close on a home purchase given the current circumstances (I hope LL finished his escrow).

It's amazing to me that people are still holding/going to Open Houses.

If there?s no fight, then why be condescending ?

In my memory we always had civil discussions and substantive debate. It?s especially odd since my comments this time weren?t even addressed to you.
