I found this website by researching information on housing and have come back almost daily ever since. I've been reading everybodys posts probably for about 4-5 months now and decided to introduce myself.

So, I just want to thank many of you for your construtive posts on various subjects and issues as it really helped make our decision to move here easier.

Till then...Hello and Thanks!

My wife and I moved to California from Orlando, FL about a year ago via job offers.

We moved to Riverside, but we both didn't care for our jobs or the area we lived in.

Since then we turned SoCal upside down researching/exploring trying to find the right community and Irvine/OC area seemed to fit our style.

We are actually making the move this weekend to Orchard Hills (yes we are proud renters) and hoping our experience here will be much better then the IE which i'm sure it will.

Anyway, one of these days I'll start posting to this forum that holds more value than this one...

Till then...Hello and Thanks!

Greetings BV. Welcome to the OC... From someone who grew up in the San Bernardino / Riverside area, I can tell you it is about 10 times better here in the Irvine-Tustin area. I'm waiting for the builders to pop in a Field of Dreams DVD and get with the program on Orchard Hills and/or Stonegate. I'd love to buy in that area but probably won't last that long... Got a great park for the kiddies in Orchard Hills. My son loves to ride his Razor on the little racetrack there.

Welcome BV!

I think you'll love Sunny California.

Florida is the Sunshine State, but I really think California should have that title.

I can't remember the last time it rained here. :coolsmirk:

BV,

Welcome to the OC and especially OH! I live across the street in Northpark. I can say that you have picked one of the newest and nicest IAC properties! Enjoy the nice walk to the Pavilions Market, and outdoor dining! :)

Welcome, blackvault. I am your neighbor in Portola Springs. As someone who was exiled to the I.E. for 5 long years, I can relate to your feelings on IE vs. OC. I look forward to your posts. Talk to you soon.

Yeah, Blackvault. Did anyone tell you about the initiation.

All newbies have to host a BBQ at their new place.

I'll bring the home-made chocolate chip cookies and the Texas Cavier (yummy recipe).

Hello BV, welcome!! Just like you, I have been a loyal reader of this blog for many months, and recently found the courage to post. ;-) Looking forward to your posts!

Once you start posting, you can't stop.

I need to go to Bloggers Anonymous. %-P

Hi Black Vault,

Nice to meet you. Welcome.... I have to warn you.. the IHB is like doing cocaine... I am fully addicted and i cannot stop. I need counseling. Driving back from church last Sunday, Ms. Panda told me that i started to change after i found the IHB, implying that I spend more time on the blog than i spend time with her.. Not a Good sign to hear that from your wife.

In a more serious note, there are a lot wonderful people to meet here. Welcome aboard.

CraZy Panda.

You mean you stepped away long enough to attend church?? Wow, that's progress, Panda. (Unless, of course, you brought your laptop and sat only where you could pick up a good wireless connection. D'oh.)

Welcome. Irvine has a lot to offer. Obviously, we all like it.

I living in the Orlando area for 7 years. I was in Leesburg for a while, then Kissimmee, and for the last year, I lived down in Disney's Celebration. I miss all the golf courses, but I don't miss the humidity and the heat.

Damn...I knew there was a catch to introducing myself. Well I do like to BBQ, so yeah...perhaps once we settle I can throw something...just don't hold me to it.

Welcome to the IHB!!!

Lot's of great people on here... and a wealth of information! It's so much easier to log in and get the latest news all in one spot... then cruise over to the youtube videos and comics for the humor.

I also grew up in the IE, and have been living in OC for about 7 years now... when I visit family, I am always amazed at how much hotter it always is out there! 10-15 degrees!

I'll be waiting for my invite to the BBQ! ;-)

Hi BV. Welcome to the community!

Ipo- same with us. And then we usually go get a Golden Spoon on the way home.

Every week or two I drive the horseshoe that goes around Northwood HS in the hopes that I'll see houses being framed or sumthin'. A girl's gotta hope!

Welcome - If you're in OH, just make everyone bring a dish from Zov's right there. Mmmmm. I'll bring the mac-n-cheeze. (Yes, I spelled that right.)
