Do you read the blog?

There can be only one.

(for what it's worth, I'm not the one who voted for 3-car garage... who is my mystery buddy?)

I second this. I read the blog daily. Some really good posts recently. I respect Irvine Renter's analysis most because it is consistent and based on tried and true fundamentals. Also Dr. Housing Bubble has been doing an superb job of covering the foreclosure tsunami that is approaching. With all the kool-aid being past around lately, I think some of the forum posters need to venture over to the blog for some much needed detoxing.

Ahh yes, that is where I find my relief from BK's $375/sf prediction and how Irvine prices won't be coming down. I really enjoy AZ's posts on the blog (he's the No_Vas of the blog world), wish he ventured out here to the forums. Now you understand why I'm such a bearish realtard. haha

Yes he is, I saw him at the last gathering but never got a chance to say hello.

I enjoy AZDavid's comments as well. He is smart and funny. I wish he would become a forum regular. One of the things I love most about this site are the very humorous people we have, each clever in their own way. I regularly LOL (and I mean loud!) when I read comments from IHO, Deuce, Bk, acpme, no_vas (and AZDave on the blog) - those are the main ones off the top of my head that keep me coming back for more.

I'm really hitting my busy summer season, really cutting back on the IHB; down to about 1 hour max! Total,, so sorry if I don't read every response to every thread. I still try to read the blog and the responses there; very imformative. The Forums are mostly lifestyle and banter now... which is fine and fun.

With the number of hours some of you read and write; dedicate to the IHB, you could have gotten a post-graduate degree with the same amount of work!

 You created you first few polls, I can start using smilies, firsts for all! Yes, I'll be by the pool side with SPF lotion in hand...

Wasn't in the mood to get the PHD and need the breaks from working and studying for the CPA exam.

I'm always looking for more writers for the blog. I'm pretty sure IR would welcome taking some time off. We've had several authors in the past and we've always encouraged all authors to write blog posts. ISM, graph, and SCHB (I apologize if I missed anyone) had some fantastic posts with great insight into Irvine/OC Housing. I think we just got burned out and weren't able to make the time to continue to write blog posts. If I'm misspeaking for someone, please jump in and offer your thoughts. More recently (within the last year), we've also had some nice contributions from Cuatro and Cubic Zirconia.

If you are interested in writing about Irvine Housing, by all means send me a PM or an email and let me know what you are interested in writing about.</blockquote>

I keep on coming up with ideas of topics to write for the blog, including bashing Gary Watts, but life happens and the idea fades away as each week passes that "I mean to get to it". I have said this before privately, and now I will say it publicly, if I were scheduled to have a blog post once a week on a particular day, I would make sure I have a post once a week. Sometimes the post would be near the caliber of IR's posts, but other times it might be much simpler. Hell, I might even write about my tomatoes and post some pics, just for some change from the homedebtors. Or maybe a trip report from my trip to Portland with all their high rise buildings being erected to sit empty with their unemployment rate of over 11%.

If IHBers really want this, please encourage me and zovall to make this happen, and we will. If I have a scheduled day to post, then post I will. We can call it the Thursday snarktastic report, or something like that.

I think you should do stuff on the pending foreclosures similar to what IR did on Monday showing all the maps of different areas of Irvine. Since you are Mr. Foreclosure this would be a good subject for you to snark on ("Look at that wannabe-billionaire in Shady Canyon... how will he feel when I buy his mansion on the courthouse steps next month!").

And it doesn't have to be every week... you can go bi-weekly or whatever... a once in a while article on that and other "graph"able stuff would be great.

I also think BK should do something too... if you collect all his nuggets from the forums, you probably have a year's worth of material.

I think IR could use the break... I still am in awe on how he can do a daily post with song lyrics and a youtube video that matches the subject material... he's a ma-cheen!

I dunno how IR does it either. I really wonder if he has been spending too much time in the I.E. and the meth labs. Doing a post takes a lot of time, doing a post of IR's caliber takes a shite load of time. He must type really fast.

I totally would do a post on foreclosures. I also would love to talk about that dreaded area of no sidewalks... N. Tustin. I would also be happy to do it once a week. Give me a scheduled time, and I will do it. We need some diversity, I'm willing to add to that, but I really do have ADD, and I need to set appointment on my calendar, otherwise the shiny object in the room will get the attention.

Graph,

I would like make a request for the creation of <em>"Foreclosure Friday"</em> on the blog. Foreclosure finding and presentation is where your strength lies. Also, I remember that you have written very good quality posts in the past that have been mistaken for being IR's. I am thinking the creation of "Foreclosure Friday" posts from you would offer valuable insight to the readers as well as giving IR a much deserved 3-day weekend to enjoy his real life.
