Cypress Village has an insane amount of people parking on their streets.  Throughout the entire community, the curbs are completely filled with cars especially in the evenings.  All the apartment communities there are awful, people park outside the community all up and down the street.

You'd think the detached home communities would be a bit better but not really.  One drive up any of the streets in CV with motorcourt homes and you nearly rub fenders with the car passing you.

There's certainly a lot of mainlanders, but don't know if it's any more % wise than Stonegate.

this is why we ultimately passed on CV. It is too dense for our liking, and cars piled on top of each other doesn't exactly class the place up. Well, that and we wanted a fireplace.  :P

I was concerned about the car situation too but I don't think it's a fair assessment right now.  Majority of cars belong to construction workers when they are busy working Mon~Sat.  Sunday the streets are VERY quiet and very few cars parked on the side.

I'm happy with no fireplace to maintain and clean.  But I am seriously considering a Real Flame Fireplace.

Easy to maintain and it heats up just like a real fireplace.

I think aquabliss might have mistaken the contractor cars on the streets vs residents. With any new development in progress there will be a ridiculous amount of cars parked on the street. This should go away once development is complete and if there continues to be lots of cars parked on the street than that means there are multiple people renting/living in these homes other than just families.

Are there rules in CV to not let residents park on streets?  I know PP has that provision.

I think OpenSky has a great point about the "level of motor court-ness".  But I think it's too soon to tell what (if any) parking issues CV will have.  During move-in, a lot of people utilize their garage to unpack as well as leaving it open for contractors to do work.  Since a lot of these homes don't have driveways, residents are probably forced to park both cars on the street right now.  After the initial move-in month or two, people may start doing landscaping which means they still can't park their cars in the garage.  I think we need to wait until the community is mostly moved in before judging.

Do not have this problem at all at Saratoga.  Definitely had a lot of construction traffic/parking during the weekdays but it's pretty empty on the weekends.  Most people don't park on the street because it's too far to walk to their homes.

I also don't know if helps having driveways.  Most people don't seem to park on driveway but on the street.  I have a much harder time finding parking in Woodbury than SG.

Well, not all CV are created eaual. :P

At least in Magnolia and Mulberry, parking is not a problem at all.  Mulberry's wide profile provide decent distant between two driveway openings, you can easily park two cars on the street between the two driveway openings.  With Magnolia, you can park 2 cars in front of your garage inside of the California Court plus the additional street parking.

Not sure about the situation in Marigold but I can see the parking became an issue in Jade Court, Acacia, Caserta, and Jasmine.

Obviously you'll have parking issues in the denser locations.  So Townhomes, condos, apts.. will have parking issues in Irvine.

Yep.. man... Total nightmare driving out of woodbury and stonegate lol

I know Woodbury is hectic... had my kids bday at a park there once.  So much traffic coming through.

The real nightmare in getting out of Stonegate (and Woodbury) is the stop signs..

Probably a good parking issue comparison and contrast is the Garden Hill / Sage tract in Portola Spring.  The community is almost fully developed and occupied except for a few Garden hills homes under construction.  Both are 3-house deep motorcourt homes but Garden Hill have driveways while Sage does not.  If you drive there at night, the Garden Hill section have a few cars here and there parked on the street.  The Sage section on the other hand are full of cars parked on the streets.  The middle section which is a mix of Garden and Hill and Sage homes is also somewhat full but not as full as the Sage section.  Driving through the street (the whole tract is basically just one street with two dead ends), you can easily see from the street parking alone the division between Garden Hill and Sage section

When Laguna Altura was open, you could see how crowded the motorcourt area homes were.

Even in Woodbury where the SFRs are, it's pretty packed.

Another big reason for this even on SFR homes with a driveway on a street is because the homes are so much closer together, there isn't enough open street parking to fit the cars.

It's looking good in Marigold so far:

Maybe if people used their garages to park their car, it would be less crowded. :)

Either most people have too much stuff (this may be it) or new homes don't have enough storage space because the builders are putting too many houses using concepts like shared drive ways and motorcourt.

This may be one of the biggest reason that I may look for some thing in westpark area instead of in a new villages.  Too bad I can't afford $1.5 million homes...
