I'm not very good at keeping up with repetitive non-sports activities. I just need bionics so I can dunk on Homie.

Never!!
Gonna look like this... off the glass:

(although to Homie's credit, you can find another video where he torches that team with defense, shooting, drives and passes)

Ahhhh yeahhhhh... not only is my favorite donut place open 24 hours (I think the only one in Irvine) but now they serve CRONUTS!!!

Left to right: Blueberry Cream Cheese, Maple Bacon, Sugared, Glazed

The sugared Cronut holes are samples I think (he gave me one to taste)

I bought the glazed:

As you can see, the big difference between donuts and cronuts is the flaky layers of dough. I'm not sure if these are fried or baked (but they taste fried). Dang, my knees are in trouble now.

The location is the Donut Star off of Alton and Jeffrey... Homie hates it when I give them props because I think they are his cousins.

Next time I'll try the Maple Bacon and the Blueberry Cream Cheese, but I think these things are $3-$4 each.

Yum.

Are they phasing out some of the traditional doughnuts in order to open up case space for cronuts? It would be a sad day if they axed the apple fritter (my favorite) to make room.

I don't think so... maybe they just make less of others.

I don't recall seeing the bacon maple bar... so maybe they did replace one (since one of the cronuts is also bacon maple).

so IHO, what did you think of the cronut? is this your first?
Yeah... it was pretty good. Not sure if it was so good that you should pay 3-4 times for it.

My favorite donuts are Apple Fritters (SoCal Twinsie Power Activate!) and crumb.

Actually, crumb is tied with apple fritter as my favorite, too. I just didn't want to look like an oink-oink by naming more than one doughnut. Specifically, my most favorite doughnut are the little "gem-type" crumb doughnuts (from the grocery store.)

And I refuse to believe you stopped at only 1 cronut!

I don't eat large quantities, I just don't eat the right things.

I should ask him to make a crumb one... then maybe I'll get two.

3-4 times meaning the cost?  Or the effect it has on your digestive tract?  Or the extra calories?
I meant cost, but you're probably right on the others too.

No (and I like the Donettes crumb donuts too)... but I did get these today:

I ate the bacon maple one which was pretty good. Saving the blueberry cream cheese for later.

He also added another type, it was chocolate with walnuts... he's killing me and my wallet coming out with these different flavors.

They are $3.85 each or two for $3.50 I think.

Whole Foods has actual cronuts now.

Instead of a croissant dressed up like a donut, they are actual deep fried croissant dough with frosting and stuff... the had strawberry, chocolate and peach. They are in the Orange Bakery display.

For $1.99... they are a decent deal.
