It started with Trump calling COVID a Democratic Hoax and down played it instead of trying to combat it. And now conservative politicians and pundits are pushing the anti-vaxx stance so that their base wouldn't take the vaccine, just to try to prolong the pandemic. The question you want to ask yourself. Why are these conservatives so adamantly pushing the anti-vaxx stance when they themselves are fully vaccinated?

And please, don't run down that DELTA VARIANT CAME ALONG road. The vaccines are the same and work in some cases, not all, against the variants. There will be more variants in the future, just like the flu. Same old vaccine.

Why fight the will of the people? Because the people can be wrong. That's why we are not a Democracy, but a Representative Republic. "The People" would love to see many things that aren't always the best for us. The majority of American's accept vaccination. They want people to get the jab. I want them to get the jab. It can also be said the majority of people don't want this forced on others. Freedom of choice is preferred over bowing to the will of the few.

Tucker Carlson is fully vaccinated and he keeps pushing the anti-vaxx stance. Tucker Carlson is a far-right Trump supporter. Texas and Florida governors are fully vaccinated and they ban the vaccine mandate in their states. Abbott went as far as suing the White House and DeSantis is holding funding from school districts that have vaccine mandate. That's just to name a few.

It's laughable that you think liberals are having so much more anger management issues than conservatives when conservatives are the ones threatening the lives of people over the vaccine and mask mandates.

Moderna would have been first out of the gate in September/October 2020 but because their testing groups were not as racially diverse as the American population they had to re-group and re-test before being approved for emergency use. Their updated testing shows much better than expected results from these other people groups who were mixed into the original test subject groups - so not a bad thing, even though it meant a longer delay before approval for emergency use.

I don't actually like to talk politics and religion. I didn't even bring up politics in this topic. I merely talked about how the vaccine helps combating COVID.

And the only reason I got into arguments with morekaos is that I'm pissed off that he's been spreading misinformation about COVID.

Just like any sane person, I'm sick of this situation with COVID. Everyone wants to get back to normalcy, but there's a group of people who want this pandemic to drag on by promoting the anti-vaxx stance with misinformation. As long as the 40% of the unvaccinated population remains, we will not get over COVID. We need herd immunity.
