Over 2,000 maskless people packed into NYC park for free metal concert last weekend after organizers applied for permit calling it 'September 11 Memorial' rally

Instead more than 2,000 people showed up to listen to four metal bands - most of them not wearing masks
The event violated several COVID restrictions including a ban on outdoor gatherings with more than 200 people

Regardless, in primetime on Monday night the Fox News host Tucker Carlson claimed requiring children to wear masks outdoors was child abuse.

Carlson also said the only people who wear masks outside are zealots and neurotics and said seeing a vaccinated person wear a mask outdoors was like watching a grown man expose himself in public.

The comedy continues!

It?s not just Tucker...makes you wonder why anyone believes anything now a days...

'Total, complete, blood-boiling nonsense': Dr Fauci is branded a CHILD ABUSER for warning that kids may have to wear masks outdoors until the end of the year because 'they're more at risk of getting infected'

Anthony Fauci on Wednesday morning spoke to Savannah Guthrie on Today
The pair had a testy discussion about children wearing face masks

Ah yes, lets report the garbage Tucker says without attribution.  This is how conservative media worms these days, their foaming idiots rant, then their news channel reports the rants as if it is educated critique by peers of the person.

Frankly, I'm expecting the fall to be interesting if kids aren't approve for the vaccine by then.

Bloomberg News: U.S. Tells Citizens to Leave India as Covid Crisis Deepens

The U.S. told its citizens to get out of India as soon as possible as the country?s Covid-19 crisis worsens at an astonishing pace.

In a Level 4 travel advisory --- the highest of its kind issued by the State Department -- U.S. citizens were told not to travel to India or to leave as soon as it is safe to do so. There are 14 direct daily flights between India and the U.S. and other services that connect through Europe, the department said.

I'm surprised that Pakistan and Bangladesh are not on the same order given reasonably similar population density and close proximity to India.

Any direct insight as to what's being done differently with these two neighboring countries that India has not done itself?

Nothing.

Pakistan, Bangladesh and India have the exact same Level 4 Travel Advisory.

The big difference is the level of country diaspora in the USA, testing (India is 32X and 64X respective testing while only roughly 8X pop.) and media axe to grind, IMHO.

India's problem is the health system for the poor.  Their covid levels are slightly higher than our and maybe on par with unpublished guess rates with France on a per 100,000 basis.

BTW, France has the same level 4 travel advisory. Yet, major news sources like Wapo were publishing articles talking about summer vacation in France while running same panic stories on India.

Joe Rogan is right about this too....

U.S. to restrict travel from India effective May 4 as Covid surge devastates the country

The Biden administration will restrict travel from India as that country grapples with a gigantic surge in coronavirus cases, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said.

The country is battling a highly contagious Covid variant, known as B.1.617, which was first spotted there. The variant, which contains two key mutations that have been found separately in other coronavirus strains, is believed by some to be behind the latest wave of infections.

See that little rise in slope at the end? That's the "uptick" I was referring to.

Find California's and it's not any "better" as you misinformed here.

Purple doesn't make it factual.

Florida health advisory says go mask free once you?re vaccinated.

Just for comparison, India, the country, reported record cases on Friday.  Their incidence rate is 28/100k.  We?re restricting travel, in a few days.

Florida reported mild cases of 5306. For an incidence rate of 25/100k.

The 7 day average incidence rate is actually higher in Florida than India.

I?m not belittling India, they are having a crises, we however are in strong denial on how fast our situation can change in the States.

India reported 400k daily covid cases. Is that the world record for daily covid cases?

I don?t know if it is denial as much denial as it is positive trends/indicators. I think 30% (100 million, 40% of adults) of the US population is fully vaccinated. Then if you consider those previously infected (32 million known infections, plus who knows how many unknown), that probably adds another 10-20% if the adult population that has some defense mechanism. And it appears the actual issue in India is the poor healthcare system vs ours in the US since based on your numbers on a per capita basis it seems that generally their infections are no worse than ours.

I think it?s good for people to start turning the corner and being more positive as we exit the pandemic.

Case numbers metrics are by some measures worthless. Example - the US may see higher case numbers, but those vaccinated will not have as severe issues as would the unvaccinated. Higher case numbers but far fewer deaths isn't what India is going through at present.

Death count also is hard to compare also as their health systems, their mortuary practices, their population age, weight, etc aren't congruent to our healthcare systems or population.

All we really know is this: A terrible thing is going on over there now. I hope the US will ship as much of the vaccine materials as possible as it's the only way through this.
