Why not get together and fight this instead of fighting over masks.

The Hill Article: Republicans shift, urge people to wear masks

Prominent GOP leaders who until recently celebrated "individual choice" are now preaching to their constituents to cover their faces to keep themselves and others healthy. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and House Republican Conference Chairwoman Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) are imploring people to put on masks in public spaces, maintain physical distance from others and wash their hands frequently.

Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), who is retiring from the Senate and is chairman of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, urged President Trump to wear a mask in public to help sweep away political stigma about how masks can help curb coronavirus transmissions.

Repubs finally shifted to "wearing a mask helps stop the spread".  Well....better late then never.  Now they'll get the blame for not implementing it back in MAR.

As corona virus problems go up, Democrats taking the senate and presidency goes up.

It's so ironic the republican party is helping the democrats beat them.

Tsk tzk tsk, that's why you're seeing all the focus on BLM protest and sarcasm about spread.  They are posturing to blame BLM and still deny about failed distancing and no masks.

@Mety: It?s both.

You didn?t read my post where I responded to King?s post about the protest ?study?.

It's both what? You're still not addressing the fact such crowded BLM protesters didn't end up with getting C-19.

How do you know they didn?t? LA county has only 1/4 the population yet almost half the cases and over half the deaths.

Just look at the trend lines and you will see how LA?s numbers have gone up since BLM and reopenings. The study that King posted may give you an idea of why protests didn?t result in as huge a surge because there were limiting factors that reduced spread for other portions of the population.

You really just need to read or you are qwerty?s burner account.

What if I read all even before I posted anything yesterday? What if I'm really YF or qwerty's burner account? I think you and eyephone are the same person now and it has been all just for entertainment reasons you guys were fighting so hot last year.

Laguna Beach closing, but not Newport Beach... yet.

Gov. Newsom expected to give new restrictions for California due to the surge or uptick in coronavirus.

That's what IHO posted couple minutes prior. Now I really think you guys are the same person with burner accounts.

It's obvious you did not or you wouldn't be asking these questions. Or maybe you're like qwerty, you read it and then forgot it.

I'll use adventurous' line: "Think again"

Let's compare NY to CA.  It doesn't look so bad if we use covid 19 deaths.

800 deaths/day at NY peak
NY is currently at 15 deaths per day.
CA is currently at 50 deaths per day, and seems to be flat.

NY Testing is at 1.1% positive
CA Testing is at 5.9% positive (CA was at 5.0% last week)

This would suggest our deaths/day will be going up, but so far it has not.

I think the death rate is better because:

1. We are better isolating the at risk people
2. We are better at treating the infected
3. We are still below capacity

I read conflicting reports that those infected are having worse symptoms than those earlier this year... as there are many cases where they are asymptomatic or mild.
