Circuit City

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
So much for any customer that bought an extended warranty thru CC.

I wonder if/when this will affect the store in the Tustin MarketPlace?

I read in the Register the only local CC going down was the

Foothill Ranch store.

I say by early 2009 that all the CC stores will be shutting down because the company files for BK.

The one right next to the Linens-N-Things and across the street from Barbeques Galore? Gee! The irony!

They aren't dead yet. Yet.

They're closing all their stores and liquidating all their inventory. That's pretty dead.

I hear the CC store will be gone by Thanksgiving. That's deader. But we're arguing over what shade of black this is.

I was referring to that Mervyn's around the corner from that Circuit City in Foothill Ranch. That one is definetly dead. I believe that Circuit CIty was a Good Guys before they went down. Maybe Best Buy is next for that spot. Although it does seem like too small a spot for a Best Buy.

The only circuit city store I've ever shopped at is the CC at fashion island in newport. I bought 2 LCD flat screens. I got a better price at CC then Best Buy. Everyone says CC customer service sucks, but every time I've walked into Best Buy at Metropoint nobody acknowledges my presence...but at CC I have no problems. But it looks like CC is going under.

The best place customer service I've seen...Magnolia home theater in BestBuy...but prices are really high, but service is great.

MD,

I know what you mean. I get all sorts of bad service from everwhere else, but Magnolia seems to be decent. They always want to seem me on sound system, but I already have a VERY top notch system. Anyways good luck

They don't make it past the Superbowl.

Does this mean I can buy a PS3 and a 50" LCD for 200/800? *crosses fingers*

I went to a CC last week that was ID'd in the last announcement as being on the closure list hoping to find bargains. There was a light peppering of yellow sale tags throughout, but otherwise they looked like they were putting attrition into play without looking desparate. No outward clues they were due to close, and nothing really priced to move. They're only a mile from my house, so I'll stop in once every week or two.

Circuit City Begin Liquidation

I'm wondering what type of deals we'll see. Will I be able to get a nice HDTV to put side by side with the other HDTV I have.

This way, you can watch two sports game at the same time. Or watch a game and play PS3 at the same time.

Alright, it's not the best use of my cash, but it's a lot of fun.
