I am going to see my friend for dinner, very soon, and without six packs, I feel inadequate :)
BTW, I also get strong suggestions to freeze my youthful self and immortalize my beauty :P

My solution to meeting the standards is simple: Get uglier friends. You'll always feel like the most beautiful woman in the room.

I think you are aging in reverse!

Get uglier friends with smaller houses and underachieving children - the new motto of life :)
Oh, make sure they are heavier than you, and take them out to lunch once a week to help them stay that way.

Phew! I was so scared that you will ask me out.. (you know.. TI's find someone fatter than you program!)

Uh-hem. He did ask us to go hiking with him. Was it all part of TI's "Find Someone Uglier Than You" program?!  :-\ Rumor has it his dazzling beauty puts us to shame.

The snack unloader- next time tell them to leave the bag for you, and when they leave, send the bag to where it belongs- to the trash can!

Good call, I have actually done that too lol

I will be happy when this day is over and there is no more Halloween candy tempting me. We've already had to replace one of the bags.  :-X

The makings of Mummy Dogs, salad, punch, and jello cups are in my ice box. I was going to do witch finger dogs this time - you use a paring knife to cut out a nail bed on one end, slice some knuckle wrinkles and stick it in a bun but the mummies are back by popular demand instead.

I am under the weather and wish it were bedtime but it's not even 11 a.m. It's going to be a long day.

CZ, the little one is feeling better. He went back to school today. I'm crossing my fingers everyone will be well for our hike Saturday. We need to burn off these calories!

that's good! I have one at home, and every time the phone rings worry that it's the second one. No fever for both of us today, so I am thinking we are headed to recovery..

I haven't opened the candy bag yet- but come evening, I will raid their stash for Tootsies!

+1 for MyFitnessPal.
I don't know how much more I can lose though. 23lbs down already from May 1st, and close to hitting a plateau, crashed my diet multiple times with good 3000 calories three course meals :) I will still join just to keep an eye on you guys though!

No clue if I hit any other milestone in between, but since the start of this thread to now, 5.5lbs. I haven't eaten clean enough, and haven't seen the gym in past three months, stopped walking.. Searching for that inspiration somewhere to motivate me.

Dropped two dress sizes.. in between another change, where an even number is big, another even number is small.  Odd number for my height will need a fortune- I would rather wait till I lose that weight :)

Homer? IHO? SoCal? What's the change from beginning?

CZ you mean you're down 5 and surprised or up 5?

Since the start, I believe I had lost 8. I've gained it all back +1. I win!

Meh. I'm not crying myself to sleep about it. At my height, 10 lbs. here and there doesn't seem like very much. It takes a lot more than that for me to go down one dress size.

Down 5. Up 5 wouldn't affect much- I am talking about the size change since May.. I don't think I am petite enough to see difference in 5 ;-)
The kids aren't here yet.. I am slowly nibbling on stuff.

Your boys ready to go trick or treating?

See how easy that is... tell a woman a man is prettier and they go all cray-cray.

As for my comment on Homer... don't you all remember the whole manscaping thread?

Heard this song on the radio today. Immediately thought of you, Iho.

These days there's dudes gettin' facials
Manicured, waxed and Botoxed
With deep spray-on tans and creamy lotion-y hands
You can't grip a tacklebox

Yeah with all of these men linin' up to get neutered
It's hip now to be feminized
I don't highlight my hair
I've still got a pair
Yeah honey, I'm still a guy

Oh my eyebrows ain't plucked
There's a gun in my truck
Oh thank God, I'm still a guy

My new weekend routine in an effort to get more physical:

- Load my slow cooker in the afternoon. Last weekend I tried a new recipe: Buffalo Chicken Lasagna a'la crockpot365.com for those who are fans.

- Head for the hills or canyons.

- Hike 2-3 hours. I'd love to go longer but I'm trying to keep it kid-friendly. Last weekend it was oooooh-spookey Black Star Canyon. Home to all kinds of crazy stuff. I saw the Red Rocks of Orange County. I bet you didn't know we even had red rocks. Neither did I!

- Come back to eat dinner. No excuses to stop and get something to eat when I'm too tired to cook.

... This is the hardest time I've ever had in my life. The walks I'm doing 4-5 times a week aren't helping. Age has a way of slapping you in the face and to add insult to injury, my birthday is in four weeks. I'm not happy about that at all but I'm still looking for ways to keep going, keep burning more calories regularly. I keep telling my husband he could do so much better than me. Poor guy.

Hiking, hiking, hiking.

Working, working, working.

Cooking, cooking, cooking.

Baking, baking, baking.

Tug of War on the scale.

I've been moving all day. But now. Now. I'm baking a Hot Milk Sponge Cake. To be topped with macerated strawberries I made earlier and whipped cream.

I'm not doing myself any favors.

So, I'll keep

hiking, hiking, hiking...

November is a month of little sleep and extra calories. The two combined are a deadly combination.

I woke up at 4:30 a.m. yesterday to make Broccoli Cheese Soup for Mr. SoCal to take to his work's Thanksgiving potluck. Don't worry. I didn't eat it. Puh-lease. Give me some credit. I have more restraint than that.  ::)

Uh-hem.

I had this instead!

Arby's Peppermint Stick Swirl Shake

... not at 4:30 a.m. of course but only because they aren't open that early.

This time I'm not sorry. It was worth it.

The forgiving scale shows I'm down a few lbs. I have another hike planned for this weekend. A new location. I'm excited.
