Biden v. Palin

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Being completely objective, I'm very surprised that she held her own, but don't get me wrong, she's still annoying as all hell(Her voice primarily). But in terms of seeming "Competent", she did a decent job.

As for Joe Biden, he should be arrested for 1st degree murder... Because he killed it!

One of the things I like about Governor Palin is her voice. She has a familiar sound to someone

like me who grew up in the midwest. I think she did very well. Senator Biden didn't knock it out

of the park but he 'did no wrong' which all I thought he needed to do.

Palin's folksiness may be appealing to some people, but it doesn't look very presidential. I tried imagining each one of the two being president, and I could not imagine her in the role. I have had my reservations from the start about Obama's experience and readiness for the Presidency, but compared to Palin...

She did come across as much more competent this time. I was expecting the worst after the Couric interview.

I have always liked Joe Biden. He is intelligent and articulate, but he is prone to be an egotistical ass.

I think the story here is that Palin did not completely humiliate herself and torpedo the McCain campaign.

I watched only bits. Every reponse reminded me of the rote memorized responses kids pile onto exams when they've memorized the bullet point content but don't understand the application or implications.

I don't like the avoidance of the questions. It just reminds me too much of the current administration.

I thought it was arrogant to say that she'd respond how she wanted, regardless of the moderator's question. She was no train wreck, but she was not the stronger of the two.

Palin & John McCain need to understand the difference between an active military campaign and an Occupation. We are occupying Iraq. There is no War to win we are just there.

It's like a war on drugs. It never ends. As long as we are occupiers there we always be some unemployed disgruntled young men Sunni or Shia that will want to get an ak-47 and take pot shots at our troops and I would do the same thing if it were the Chinese or Russians in California.

We won the Iraq war. In 2 weeks we destroyed the army. Sadam and his family are dead.

We are not surrendering if we walk away. We went to find Weapons of Mass destruction. Did not find any.

What nobody has said and few Americans understand is it makes no damn bit of difference if we kill or capture bin Laden or not.

Hopefully we can get a few people in Washington with a brain and they can come up with some better ways to prevent hard co fundamentalism from spreading.

It's a movement and it does not have a military solution. It needs an economic solution.

BTW. I think Biden did well. I think Sara got a bit wordy she says a lot with out saying much.

The Obama/ Biden ticket will prevail and it?s going to be a landslide.

-For those of you on the fence regarding Obama I reccomend the book Obamanomics written by John Talbot.

I'm an reading it now and find it very good.

_ I think I said before I voted for Hillary. and I too thought Obama was not expereinced enough reading his book Audacity of hope and the book obamanominc has changed my mind.

I liked how she kept saying nyoo-koo-lar, just like Bush. And I'm not a fan of the EYE-rack pronunciation of Iraq, either.

I think a CNN critic after the debate said it best, it?s 9/11, the president?s on Air Force One, and you have Palin sitting in the White House about to make an executive decision. At times like that, a ?I?ll try to gather some information and bring it back to you? simply will not cut it. Imagine her sitting in a meeting with a World Leader, America is already being laughed at by other countries, and we are falling behind rapidly. With the way America is backpedaling while other countries are moving full steam ahead, it would be outright embarrassing to appoint this lady as second in command to represent our country. Bush already set the bar low, we?re not doing the Limbo here, however I feel that Palin would be bending over even lower, judging by the amount of knowledge on foreign policy or domestic issues she has displayed thus far.

For those people that don?t see the danger of electing this ticket to office, it?s really scary. There are those mom and pops that will forever say ?I am voting for McCain/Palin and nothing they can do or say will change my mind? which are the same folks that voted for Bush/Cheney. And look where that got us 8 years later. These people are living in fantasyland, and with the stock market falling 300 + points every other day, it?s really a time for reality.

I think Tina Fey?s performance was amusing, however there was a chilling truth to the substance of that skit. Some of Palin?s comments showed the importance that we need people with intelligence to lead, or at least basic knowledge of important issues. She has neither, and once McCain croaks, (and he will croak while in office), the thought of having this lady stand up to lead this country, is just as terrifying as the thought of having Bush in the office for another term.

^- exactly how I felt.

For this career Republican, the debate made me come to one concrete conclusion. If the polls are somehow close near election time, I'm going to put my GOP badge in the drawer and head to the polls to vote for Obama/Biden. No way in world I want Palin one heart attack away from the presidency...

Yeah IPO, I've been really on the fence on this one, but have been thisclose to signing on with Obama/Biden. But then someone like Gotti, or SocalMD, or ventouxbob goes and shoots their mouth off -- and I scramble back onto the fence. I'm not sure what's worse, Sarah Palin being a heartbeat away --- or people like those I just mentioned pounding their chests at a Obama victory. I wonder if these severe partisans realize how offputting their approach is to independents.

If McCain does win, he can probably give an assist to Daily Kos, Keith Olbermann, and Gotti.

- I may have gone a bit over board with the Palin bashing. I am an Independant. BTW- CK

I am extreamly PO'd at the last administration. So I have been venting a bit.

CK your smoking dope if you think mccain/Palin will carry California. regardless of how many times you vote.

I know how you feel. I was so pissed at the Bush and the Republicans during 2006, I watched Keith Olberman every night and actually went to the Daily Kos, well... almost daily.

I have always been an independent. I voted for Bush in 2000. I voted for Kerry in 2004. In fact, that election is the first since I began voting in 1988 that I did not vote for the winning candidate. That is two Republican votes, and three Democratic votes.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as ipoplaya: though not a career Republican, I'm somewhere in the center, leaning to the right. So, I was going to vote for McCain until he made his bizzarre VP pick. Watching Biden's performance, I was amazed how someone so qualified to be the President only has a shot at VP. Talk about unfairness... So I think I'll vote for him :)

Can somebody call this guy a waaambulance? Jeez, I'm on here to voice support for the candidate I'm choosing to vote for this election year... Look at what you just wrote, you're on the fence and slightly leaning towards the better candidate but yet you'll put your petty feelings for me first rather than do what's right for your country. All I've done in this forum is crack a few jokes at the opposition because they bring it on themselves. If you're still undecided by now, that's your problem. Don't point your finger at us because you can't separate the lies from the truth in this election year. Lastly, I find it very amusing that I can under your skin. You know... You can easily ignore me just like how I'm about to ignore you. *Click.

Maybe you should read what you just wrote, Gotti. You are gleeful that you "got under the skin" of somebody who is considering voting for your candidate. If you really support your candidate, shouldn't you be working for every vote you can get? Maybe my vote (and yours) don't matter in California, but take both of us and multiply by millions in battleground states. Self righteous pricks like yourself and the rest of the Olbermann minions should step back and realize that there are more of me than you. People like me hated the Bush far-right neocon agenda, but a far left Mike Moore agenda is no more appealing.

My biggest fear of Obama is that he is a left wing apologist just like Mr. Moore. I don't want the country to swing all the way left any more than I wanted it all the way right. With a Democrat controlled House and Senate, that is a valid concern. Maybe you (and the millions like you in places like Ohio, Virginia, and Florida) should step off the soapbox and try to convince undecideds why to vote for your guy, rather than "get under their skin"? I read your guy needed about an 8 point lead heading into election day, to beat back the Bradley effect. Last I checked, he does not have it. You need every vote you can get, and like it or not -- our vote counts exactly the same as yours.

Man, if the possibility of President Palin doesn't scare the the bejesus out of you just go ahead of vote for the war monger McCain and his retarded robot Palin. Obama doesn't need your vote as he'll win CA by a landslide. So you can vote any way you want because NOTHING is gonna stop the Obama train from taking back this country from the right wing nuts on Nov 4.

well at least Moore and the rt wing nuts take a side. Time to man up(or woman up) and form an actual opinion.
