Went here again on Friday... it was packed... reminded me of the LA days where we had to wait in line to get a seat.

Sad it took so long to get a table, but happy they have good business.

I tried the steak for the first time (momo's 2nd picture above)... usually at Versaille we always get the chicken because since we don't go there often, we get the dish we like the most, but now with Bella Cuba, we can try different things. It was pretty good but I still think the chicken is the best.

During lunch, they have cheaper versions of their most popular entrees... like you can get a 1/4 chicken instead of the 1/2 chicken at dinner.

Thanks again PS9... we traded haircuts for cuban food. :D

Had the chicken togo today.. man it was tasty.. bottle of red wine (trader joe's cheap grenache),  half a chicken split between wife and I and some extra plantains... taste explosion with every bite..

I'll be giving this place a try tonight.. Do they have waiters/waitresses?  I still need to pull off my dare from USC.

Going to order every dish you guys mentioned LOL..

PS9 and IHO, you guys ever pull off your man date?  :-\

Yes they have wait staff...get the grumpiest old waiter for your dare but do it after your food arrives just to be safe.

Man date was traded for cheap barber rec...

I think he's skurrrred.

It gets crowded on Friday nights so either go early or later.

Hmm... maybe we'll go there again tonight... I can never get enough garlic chicken!

An IHO-spotting opportunity revealed in advance???

Too bad I've already planned to make gnocchi and clams tonight.

I'm just trying to throw you off the trail.

Actually... today is Thursday... my days are off.

I might be there tomorrow... or not. PS9 got me in the mood for steak tonight.

In unrelated news: Trace - pack the binoculars. We're headed to Bella Cuba. Pick you up in an hour.

I'm ready! Got my binoculars, camera, and long-distance spy listening device. And I'm brushing up on my Austrian/Australian slang.

You guys were in the wrong place... all that Fleming's/RuthChris/Mastro talk made me go to Chili's for their $20 for 2 entrees, I had a cheap 6oz sirloin steak... but I could watch the NBA games.

Linsanity seems to be on the downturn.

Im disappointed!! Not of the food but that the waiter didn't want to take a picture with the talk irvine sign I made...  >:(

Had the empanadas, garlic chicken and the ropa vieja..they were yummy!!

How was the ropa vieja?  That will be my next dish to try there... Bet you're still tasting that chicken now and probably tomorrow morning..

The Ropa Vieja was great, be sure to ask for more sauce.. Mix the sauce with the rice and it's heaven in your mouth.

I also had the brown rice and black beans, I totally recommend having this with the garlic chicken as it compliments each other very well.

I've never had Cuban food but would like to visit Bella Cuba this weekend. (No, not to stalk you, Iho.) Is it spicy?? I only want to go if it's not too hot to handle!

cuban food is not spicy in general. the signature dish is the garlic chicken. my personal favorite is the ropa vieja (shredded beef), i like to dip the buttered bread in the sauce on the plate.

Finally had to try this place after all these multiple posts and pictures. I did try to Ropa Veja--pretty tasty beef. Loved the plantains as well. I would come back and explore the menu. Maybe the chicken next time.

How does this place compare with Felix in Orange?http://www.yelp.com/biz/felix-continental-café-orange-2

After Versailles... Felix really couldn't compare to me... and since BC is almost identical to Versailles, I would say it's also better.
