[quote author="WINEX" date=1221443755][quote author="EvaLSeraphim" date=1221439485][quote author="WINEX" date=1221298920]You don't have a problem with making fun of people with physical disabilities gained in service of their country?

Winex, if you go back and read the text it says "He doesn't know how to use a computer . . . " Are you saying that being uncurious or disinterested is a physical disability? If so, please explain because I don't get it.
I would also suggest that your prostesting of computer use by the disabled based on the disability is misplaced because there are many adaptive products for all kinds of disabilities, including keyboards. Here is a one handed keyboard that would likely work for him, if he were so inclined.

Eva, I must say this is one of the dumbest things I have seen you write.
The one handed keyboard that you linked to is designed for people with one hand. The last time I checked, John McCain had both hands. What John McCain doesn't have are good shoulders. I guess that's what happens when you break both arms and instead of getting treatment afterwards, you are hung by ropes tied around your arms for a few years.
I suppose that liberals would love to see him use something like what Stephen Hawking uses to control a computer with his mouth. You'd really love to mock him for wearing such an unsightly device, wouldn't you?
But if you can restrain your glee over and stop laughing at people who became disabled while fighting for your freedom to make a fool of yourself for just a moment, you will see the Forbes article that I linked to earlier. And if you read it, and if you understand ANYTHING about information systems, you will realize that strategic and tactical uses of information systems to minimize the cost of running a campaign demonstrates a much higher level of cognizance than is required for something simple like typing an email. For the physically able, writing an email requires nothing more than basic literacy. Using the power of information systems as a force multiplier in campaign strategies takes innovation and understanding. (Note: The article is from 2000. This was 4 years before Howard Dean got credit for being the first candidate to use the power of the internet in a modern campaign.)

You know Winex, I don't need to defend my respect for people with disabilities. If you knew my life story and the stories of those around me, I doubt you would make such an uninformed statement.
Before you jump on your high horse, you would also be wise to recall who it was that mocked injuries sustained by people in service to their country.

Those bandaids were handed out at the Republican National Convention a mere four years ago. But I guess it is impossible for you to fathom that anyone not a Republican would fight for, be injured for, and die for their country.
Returning to McCain, it would appear that physical limitations are not the all-impossible problem you make them out to be.

Q: But do you go on line for yourself?
Mr. McCain: They go on for me. I am learning to get online myself, and I will have that down fairly soon, getting on myself. I don?t expect to be a great communicator, I don?t expect to set up my own blog, but I am becoming computer literate to the point where I can get the information that I need ? including going to my daughter?s blog first, before anything else.
Q: Do you use a blackberry or email?
Mr. McCain: No
Mark Salter: He uses a BlackBerry, just ours.
Mr. McCain: I use the Blackberry, but I don?t e-mail, I?ve never felt the particular need to e-mail. I read e-mails all the time, but the communications that I have with my friends and staff are oral and done with my cell phone.
