So, at a 140 lb woman, a brisk walk is 3mph. it's also roughly 270 calories/hr.  Or, an Egg McMuffin tilts in at  1.1 hours of brisking walking.
What?!?

That means I have to walk like 7 hours a day. My 40-minute walks barely burn off a Reeses Cup. Doh... IHO MAD!!!!

That's probably right.  A single Reese's cup is 110 calories.  Basically the same as an entire pint of Strawberries.  Slightly more calories than a large apple, so that little two pack is like eating two large apples.

As another said, it's only eating...

Homer, why the ferocious green Homer picture - what's wrong?
He's mad because he hasn't seen me in a while.

Time to start joining him for the 5 a.m. sprints around the high school track, then??

I'll get my camera ready.

SoCal, we should send hand picked organic locally grown strawberries to the high school track ;-)
We will talk about that more while we sip our lattes at 3pm, OK?

Yes, we really need to meet up and get that "2014 Men of T.I." Calendar production meeting underway... errr... I mean salted caramel lattes just because.

Love the strawberry idea but do you think we would scare them... too stalker'ish? I was thinking I could dress up as a fake high school English teacher or librarian and you could be a fake high school Geometry teacher. We could say we're there to get our classrooms ready for zero period / make lesson plans. Then we can approach them and ask if they have the right to be on the track. We'll just say it's not for public use and we'll threaten to call the police. Maybe call Irvine P.D. to report the 2 "hooligans"?? Iho always says how tough and menacing he looks. I bet we can get a chopper out there with a search light. So, after all of this, THEN they get mugshots taken... which, if you've followed the Lindsay Lohan drama for the last 6 years like I have, you'll know that's all public record. I'll get copies and we can add them to our Iho / Homer scrapbook! I don't want to go through all of this just to meet them and get photos, but it doesn't seem like there is any other way since they are not making this easy, kwim? It's not my fault.

STRAWBERRY MAD!!

Back to the topic of the thread.

Here is my weekly Friday update:

Down 4 lbs. in the last week!

Total loss since my life "restarted" on 4/10: 5.5 lbs.

At my height, this is not much. However, I can now button my jeans again which has eluded me since the health crisis began in March. I feel like a loser being excited that I can button my jeans and admitting it on a public forum, but I'll take what I can get right now.

Congrats SoCal.

Anybody that has struggled with their weight knows the joys of clothes becoming a bit loose.

Just have IHO borrow your clothes for a day... it'll be loose..

If you want loose pants around the crotch area, have Qwerty borrow your pants...  ???

Good going!
As for me, no pant success.. between sizes where one size is big and the other fits like a sixteen year old's. I am planning on eating clean starting Sunday. Hopefully I can stick to my plan. Didn't buy cupcakes or ice cream from TJ's yesterday. Just bought chocolate chip cookies that I won't eat. Guess moderation has to start from shopping cart..

Oh... it wasn't directed toward you.. it was towards the public in general  ;)

Yes, Homer, I knew that! o_O I never thought any differently. Um. Awkward.

Sunday morning laughs..(From Facebook)

DO NOT wash your hair in the shower!!
It's so good to finally get a health warning that is useful!!!
IT INVOLVES THE SHAMPOO WHEN IT RUNS DOWN YOUR BODY WHEN YOU SHOWER WITH IT. WARNING TO US ALL!!!
Shampoo Warning! I don't know WHY I didn't figure this out sooner! I use shampoo in the shower! When I wash my hair, the shampoo runs down my whole body, and printed very clearly on the shampoo label is this warning, "FOR EXTRA BODY AND VOLUME."
No wonder I have been gaining weight! Well! I got rid of that shampoo and I am going to start showering with Dawn Dishwashing Soap. It's label reads, "DISSOLVES FAT THAT IS OTHERWISE DIFFICULT TO REMOVE."
Problem solved! If I don't answer the phone, I'll be in the shower!

Almost end of April update..

No weight loss at all, partly because I ate out too much, and I have stopped making better choices also. Starting today, made a resolution to eat better, and hopefully will stick to it. I have been working out/ taking walks whenever I can, and for a project that I am doing with a few of my other friends, we are keeping a track of our active minutes of the month.. Hit a thousand. That for me is hope.. that all is not lost :-)

Who is in for May fitness challenge? I never did my 30 day Shred I planned for March :)

Dear Lord. It was a rough weekend. Being the cheap date that I am, I asked Mr. SoCal to take me to one of my/our favorite places for lunch yesterday - Wienerschnitzel. I still can't believe this happened but I consumed 1,500 calories there!  :o :( That is just a little bit less than what I normally eat in an entire day! By the end of the day, my calorie count was a complete disaster. This happens about twice a month. I just deal with it and move on. I still manage to get ahead so I guess it's okay.

CZ- I'm IN for May! Yes, yes, yes!

You can never be faulted for eating at Wienerdude... it's heaven in a bun. A guy I knew went vegetarian for about 4 years... he said the only thing he missed was their chili dogs -- not steak, not In&Out, not fried chicken.

Ever since NSR's revelation of how little my walking does... I've increased my walking activity. Trying to get some mid-day walks in and will probably start up a morning walk. Still playing ball but can only get in 2 or 3 games to preserve the knees... plus Kobe's Achilles injury kind of scared me because I'm in that high-risk group for getting that injury (old guys who only play ball during the weekend).
