Yes, I took the tour, people should take the tour and see for themselves on how it's operated

here are some links:http://www.oclandfills.com/landfill/active/bowermanhttp://www.oclandfills.com/civicax/filebank/blobdload.aspx?BlobID=29056http://www.oclandfills.com/civicax/filebank/blobdload.aspx?BlobID=60359

Tidbits of info:
They have trained hawks and falcons so to ward off seagulls picking up the trash and dropping it away

It's a money making operation, paying off the OC bankruptcy

They test the water on the top of the landfill and at the bottom
They monitor the gas on the top and at the bottom
They seal off on cells

The landslide isn't the trash falling off the side of the mountain, that's just the mountain sliding off, the trash is packed at the bottom and packed upwards

Will be active for about 30-40 years, and then still operational to monitor

SJC will be the next landfill since it's vastly empty

They have tours every week, many times it's with a group of kids, like Yellow Jizz's kids one day will go on a field trip there

Constant trucks going up there, I doubt that they all have cancer

I will sanction my kids for a field trip for 1-2 hours. That is fine. It's the prolonged exposure that is my biggest concern.  ;D

All LOT of those railroad workers back in the 70s,80s, after 20-30 years, were exposed to deadly toxins and carcinogen. After 20-30 years, it resulted in cancer and many of these workers sued and won millions.  This type of hazard is an 'ACCUMULATED' type of hazard which is like smoking cigarettes. It gets absorbed and stays in your body wrecking your DNA.

Do you guys think PS1 residents can sue TIC after 25 years if they develop cancer as a result of the carcinogens from the landfill air?  I think not, they already signed the goddamn disclosures.

Check out the tour waver form.

I think best would be to get data for Turtle Ridge/Rock for last 50 years, as they were also close to landfill.

I am for sure avoiding power lines/sub stations which rules out CVE,WBE, SG/PA/, Orchard Hills 4.

Based on above information, I think we shouldn't compare Power stations same as "coyotes"..Come on!

Hey Yellowfever,
I see "0" for power substations for Orchard hills. Shouldn't it be same as SG, "2"?

I am also hearing about formaldehyde quite a bit. Apparently, laminate/engineered wood which are made in china are very high in formaldehyde.

Going back to my query: shouldn't orchard hills be scored "2" on hazard chart for closeness to power lines?

I wonder if you have to wear a mask when you go on the tour? It mentions landfill gasses in the form.

Any examples on cancer and trash workers?  Because they haul and drive trash for prolonged periods.

I think possibly there's two categories:
People picking up trash and people working at the dump site

(Disclaimer-I am not an expert on trash disposal)
