If anything I am hesitant about lake forest is that during summer days it is usually 5-8 degrees hotter than Irvine.
If you're in Irvine above the 5, the temperature difference is honestly pretty miniscule. It really starts making a difference when you're south of the 5 and even bigger when you're closer to UCI. This weekend, I was in Foothill Ranch & Lake Forest and it was 90 there and only right at about 70 degrees around UCI.
 
Was actually just at Home Depot on El Toro road, and it was hot, 85 on phone app and car temp. Irvine... 78.

Facts! :)
if we are going to scrutinize a city because of slightly higher temps, I think I'm not worried compared to toxic soils, wildfire risks, MR, location to landfill that most newer Irvine villages need to deal with. :)
