47% from SoCal
33% from Orange County
18% within 20 mi of Irvine
10% from Irvine
Not too surprising, most people I've asked at work are not from around here. I am surprised how few Northern Californians there are, which is where I spent most of my childhood.
I've lived in the San Diego area, as well as New York and Massachusetts. It's good to be back in California, though LA/OC is still bizzaro world to me- in a good way.
So here are my followup questions.
Are the people who seem a little too "OC" (as in the stereotypes you see on TV) actually raised in orange county?
Is there something in the water that The Real Housewives drank while growing up here? If they are from around here.
Or is this area just a magnet for a certain type of personality?
I'm not saying that conspicuous consumption and a sense of entitlement are unique to this area, it's just so much more... conspicuous here.
