Aww, poor guy. I must really have you fooled.

If you think we were talking about you that's pretty vain...

Jk!! Qwerty and I didn't see you walking around tonight... Maybe tomorrow!

Watch, the next question posted is going to be: "Any recommendation on a good roofer to fix my broken tiles?"

SoCal's comment was a natural follow-up... some of the window washers are less-than-careful when walking on your roof tiles to get to the windows, and result in breakage. (same with fumigation tenting, satellite dish techs, Christmas light installers, and anyone else who steps on your roof tiles.) I don't think she meant to offend.

^ Bingo! IrvineRealtor gets it. Smarty! It's the natural next step. In my experience as a homeowner, doing anything to the home is rarely as simple as what you set out to do. Rather, it's a domino effect. You change one thing, you do four other things with it and sometimes not by choice. I've had my roof tiles snapped by my house painter and a satellite guy. I've come to expect the worst and hope for the best. Allow extra cost and time to wrap things up. Just be careful. No offense, Trojan, but I looked at the Yelp page for Pioneer and those pics of the company owners look extremely "baby faced". Are they fresh out of high school? I would hope really young guys know to be careful about the tiles but then again, the painter that broke mine was an old, experienced man. He also hit his head on the eave of my roof and knocked himself unconscious. Unfortunately, many homeowners won't even know they are broken at first until it's discovered later on... even the ones leaving positive Yelp reviews. That isn't to say I wouldn't interview them. In fact I will look at both IR's and Trojan's suggestions because I would like my windows and screens done as well. But does anyone know a good roofer?  ;)

Oh, for what it's worth I don't have any rules.  :) That stuff is all up to Zovall. I am happy to be a regular forum member.

i didnt even know window washers had to get on the roof.

Yelp shows Pioneer with a really long hose to reach up 3 stories. But they also fix, clean, and replace screens. Probably from inside, but how else might they do that without getting on the roof if the window is recessed from the front of the house?? They also apply a solvent to prevent water stains. Again, I don't know how that works. Plus they do gutters. I would ask all those type of questions.

i assumed they used ladders as that seems more practical than getting on a roof. im not sure how you change a screen from a roof.

I get my windows cleaned annually.  No roof necessary.  Upstair window screens are taken out from the inside and washed/cleaned before being popped back in.

I don't think any roof would be necessary unless you have skylights?

My sincere apologies SoCal. I completely mistook your earlier comment. Thank you for the heads up on the roof tiles, I had no idea. I learn a lot here! I ended up using Pioneer who did a great job today!  USC, I told them you referred me, thanks. They didn't go on my roof luckily. Thanks again everyone.
