Wow.  Do you also walk off with the utensils by accident? :)

Oh, wow. This is too eerie. I was replying that the waiter counts the utensils as he exits... then saw your post before submitting. lol!

red robin and chilis.

Red robin - unlimited baskets of fries. Dip fry in ranch, then steak sauce, then heaven, repeat.

Chilis  - dip fries in skillet queso, then heaven, repeat.

My kids like Red Robin too, especially because the kids Mac&Cheese is unlimited refills.

I like Chili's but the rest of the fam doesn't. The food there is overly salty but the mango ice tea is so good.

You had me at AYCE Mac&Cheese.

Is Red Robin the one with the touchpad thing on your table?  The host told us what it was.  Then the waitress came and reiterated the same thing.  And after all that, I still don't know what it's for.  Apparently, I can order appetizers on it (but not entrees) and some drinks, but not certain ones.  Only bright spot was I could pay using it and not have to wait for the waitress.

i think you are thinking of chilis, they have exactly what you said.  i havent sat in the red robin at the district in a while (just do take out), so i guess they may have it too.

I'll have to check out Oriental Seafood Noodle, never heard of it.

Some cheap bites:

Japanese: Yen Sushi, Tomikawa
Hot sandwiches: Le Diplomate
Pizza: Pielogy

My favorite luxury restaurant is Ruth's Chris. It's actually not that bad if you split a ribeye with the Misses (they usually can't or don't want to eat 16 ounces of steak anyway). We also get water, a side or two and no dessert. Waiters must hate us but oh well.

Might as well order off the kids menu  :P

At least the kids menu has dessert! #whybother

The tablet thing is at Chili's.

If you use the apps, I think it adds $1 to your bill... plus some other apps cost more... a bit misleading.

Of all the continental places, I prefer that one in Marketplace next to IHOP known for their thick crust pizza (#qwerterproofing) and Cheesecake Factory.

Ok just looked it up.  I did see it at Red Robin - their system is called Ziosk.  Sounds like all of these table tablets are kinda pointless (except I do like the paying feature).  Are restaurants really saving any money on labor?  Only to add device maintenance/management costs?  Technology half assed.

I think they also charge for games, so maybe they make money that way.
BWW has something similar.
They're thinking if you didnt bring a phone or Ipad, you might get desperate and pay to occupy the kids.

That must be new, we were just at RR about 3 weeks ago and they weren't there.

Ziosk is the same as the one at Chilli's... although not sure if they still have them because that was about 2 months ago.

A placed called Stacked uses iPads at the table for ordering. It was such a pain because it couldn't do the options we wanted so we ended up just ordering through the server.

The only thing I like about the Ziosk units is you can pay your bill without having to wait for the server who usually can never be found at the end of your meal.

Sizzler's.

At least you can get wings, spaghetti, tacos... not just salad and soup.

Souplantation is a good way to get my daughter to eat veggies.  I make her eat her veggies before we get to the M&C, pizza, and ice cream.  I get her to try a new veggie every 3 months or so...we're up to peas, carrots, and corn.

Keep at it.

I'm at the stage where I hope they'll learn to like veggies in their teenage years when they see their friends eating them.

I don't understand it, I've always eaten vegetables... never felt they tasted bad... except lima beans... I don't actually like beans in general (esp in chili).
