how much can a fine possibly be? i mean the land/hardscaping is done, its not like its an eyesore that is just sitting there. im sure they wouldnt reject anything we did. pretty standard, didnt go all buckwild or anything.
You'd be surprised at what they'll pick on. I have small pebbles as ground covering for my 2 ft planter area around the perimeter and the design committee said that's not allowed and I need to replace with brown mulch. I thought pebbles as ground covering is a pretty standard look.

I can't get parking permits either (don't they know I have a three car garage?). They said they would fine me next. I may submit them before summer to take my kid to the pool. TBD. Maybe I'll just send them a pic of what the land/hardscape looks like. I don't know what good the plans do them now.
I don't understand why some people are so intent on fighting/resisting their HOA. You know the rules going in, just comply with them. Don't think that you're special. It's these type of people who, coming upon a merge of lanes, will merge at the very last minute and skip ahead of other people in the merge queue because they think their time is more important than anyone else's.
^^^ I run these folks off the road by refusing to let them merge in, since i drive a car that either has more horsepower and can out accelerate them or will survive any impact that they can bring. Plus i know i can afford any insurance hike - can they? If they start honking or flipping me off, i point to the side of the road and tell them to pull over so i can kick their @$$.

Which community are you in? Do you have to get HOA approval for little things like this before hand?
