Yes it does. These people go around quoting "military assult rifle" when it was probably some hunting rifle or even a little .22 rifle. The next thing you know they are banning ALL rifles and calling pistols assult weapons.

The little things like facts tend to get in the way....

He was probably taunting SWAT with his air-soft gun ... those things look wicked real.

That's why you need things work like a "military style assault weapon" but looks like a benign sporting good, such as an HK770:

The news report said the victim was asian.

I ?ve never seen an asian guy over at Extreme Pizza

Tri-Village makes more sense.

That place is constantly jammed so Bk's shakedown theory may have some legs.

I could be wrong though

The only time I see Asian at a pizza place is at a IHB get together event. Ten is correct with his observation. Very few Pizza places target Asian demographic. Pizza parlors would need to seriously modify their menu for Asian taste like the fast food in China and Hong kong.

I stopped by that pizza place once for a slice and it was gross and dirty. A few weeks later I noticed it on <a href="http://www.ocregister.com/articles/restaurant-inspection-food-2062437-violations-suspension?appSession=796149015872831&RecordID;=&PageID=2&PrevPageID;=&cpipage=5&CPISortType;=&CPIorderBy;=">restaurant closure</a> list because of cockroaches.

Jay Leno's Monday night headline? I must say Irvine PD is very careful in what they say as not to tarnish the "safest city image". A self inflicted wound would not add to the crime statistic.

People...c'mon. Haven't you ever heard of "press embellishment" ? The previous comments about multiple gun shot wounds/self inflicted and self inflicted/no weapon found are the press doing what they do best. Embellish. (in other words - make sh*t up)

So I stopped off at the Katie Wheeler library today while waiting for my appointment time at the Toyota dealership. Okay, yikes, note to self, do not scroll through this thread at the public library or risk getting very strange looks from those nearby. People in libraries don't like to see pics of big guns on the screen next to them.

Hey, how could a person even shoot themselves with a long gun such as that - isn't the trigger much too far away to pull on one's self?

True, but we are talking about Irvine. This actually has the opposite effect on the press. Dude could have been shot 100 times, from 5 different directions, blood covering the entire interior of the car, 200 casings found in a 100 ft. perimeter, and... the IPD would still find a way to say they think it might be self-inflicted. I could be wrong, but...

This dude got whacked. Whether it was the Triads or Wah Ching, dude didn't pay his taxes, and we will most likely never know who it was. Because... IPD would never, ever, ever, ever, tread there. They know better. And, that is the way who made the hit wanted it to be.

Not only all that, but a few years ago VP had its first murder in years. Gasp!... a murder in VP, and he was Chinese... the world is ending. At first the press went with the hit job route, but that somehow quickly turned into a spousal dispute in how he or she was cheating. It was never clear who was cheating on whom. From some somewhat reliable sources, it was a whack job. Triads were not happy with him, and... they took care of business. You can try to google it, but even that is difficult.

Called Irvine PD. They have not ruled out self inflicted scenario. It is bad for the city and to the local developers to disclose "murder". The political pressure dictates the law enforcement's course of action. Seeking justice and truth are not in the best interest for the Irvine image.

I emailed the police department days ago regarding my thoughts and not a single email from them in acknowleging my tips. I wrote and I called and all I have received is a cold shoulder from a police department who only acts at lightling speed to snap up Mexicans and Blacks driving beat up cars in Irvine.

Don't get me started about IPD. Some of the best paid and cushiest jobs.... For actually doing very, very little. Now the new sheriff is going to REALLY screw things up. All she really had to do was clean things up quietly... but instead she is making a spectial of flaunting the law(s) and working the city....

It will be interesting, but in the end, I think I'll end up moving out of the OC because of work/taxes/cost/laws/crowding and other things.

Oh well...

We have given way too much credit to IPD for being the safest city in the US. In their best interest disclosing as little as possible and eventually it will go way. If it wasn't for the media this then big elephant would have been swept under the rug.

The zoning of Irvine does not permit shady businesses and their late hours that instigate criminal activities. Even the criminals are bored out of their mind to hang around Irvine. The safety success is created by good community planning and proper zoning that intimidate the hell out of potential criminals.

This is true... HBPD aren't very fond of motorcyclists as well.
