I have a tweed hartmann carry-on bag, and a tumi laptop thing.

The hartmann bag really takes a beating. Tumi is 'ok', its a little warn in some places...

Woo! Hartmann, good stuff. We have small overnight bags we purchased from them a while back. Good stuff, but definitely not everyday.

It's not because of the bag.

I would email Tom and ask if it will fit.

He answered my emails promptly!

I might do that when I get the get the actual notebook in my hands. I've learned not to trust specs off a website. Plus, they supposedly have a new bag coming out called the Tristar that sounds like it may be what I am looking for.

[quote author="Oscar" date=1235458679]I just checked Tumi, but they don't have anything for an HDX18...although they at least have it in their "finder" dropdown list. But they are twice as expensive as Tom Bihn's bags.</blockquote>

You get what you pay for though. Tumis are so well made, you can't even find fake ones!

It was my dad's. I'm sure its 20 years old, but it sure works great. If it ends up dying, I'm going to buy one again in a heartbeat, as it really is well made and durable like no other lugage i've owned.
