My new HP HDX18 is on it's way and aside from the sleeve it comes in, I'm pondering how to carry this thing around. I'm leaning towards something from Tom Bihn but I am open to and looking for other suggestions.

my phone, some other custom hardware for self protection, a wallet....

A few crazy ex's (GFs), also about 10-15 lbs, the weight of my wife's unemployment on my shoulders

ohh

I carry my laptop in one of those roller bag things. Its company supplied, so its not so bad.

I use a Tom Bihn sleeve inside a land's end canvas tote.

Got my dad a Tom Bihn sleeve and shoulder bag for xmas a couple of years ago. He loves it.

They look awesome, but they are a bit behind the times on the 16x9 laptops and they don't do custom orders. I've been able to avoid carrying a "murse" because until now my electronics have always fit into my pockets or a smallish back pack. The Bihn bags seem to offer a little more utility, but I wanted to see what other people were using before I dropped $150+ on a bag.

[quote author="Astute Observer" date=1235443399]$150 for a bag? I guess I just use my Stater Brothers plastic grocery bag instead.

Do they hold 9 pounds? :cheese:

Got to have that HD 16:9 while traveling ?

I'm blind as a bat without contacts or glasses, so screen size was part of it. I can work with just about anything when wearing contacts, but when I put on glasses smaller screens make me crazy. My wife and I have several road trips planned over the next few years, and motels are notoriously bad for entertainment options, so we went with the HD display and the blu-ray ROM. Netflix's "watch now" also kicks major butt, add in a slingbox and we'll be covered wherever we end up.

Wow! I carry a lot of baggage compared to any of you:-)

1. Laptop bag with my laptop, my emergency stationary.

2. My purse with my wallet, my emergency make up fixes, my keys and my blackberry.

I clean up my bags once every month, or else I risk broken buckles.

You should have gone with Optoma pico projector.

Psshh... I bet Trooper carries about twice as much... all the crap that police have to carry nowadays. Plus I see no... hardware...wassupwitDAT?

I am adverse to carrying a laptop around, just too easy for somebody to get ahold of some really sensitive stuff..

g_c, maybe when my optometrist tells me I can't wear contacts anymore, I check out that cool little toy. This is my first laptop... I've been using my wife's broken down Dell B120 before she finally laid down the law and made me get one of my own, hence the choice in both size and spec.

bix,

My collection of Dr. Demento shows on MP3 isn't backed up in five seperate locations and you've already out yourself as a ballroom dancer... what other secret/sensitive info is there?

I never "outed" myself as a ballroom dancer, ive always been upfront.

As for the other info, well i'm not a classified courier anymore, so the TS/S/SCI information stays where it is safe.

I used to listen to Dr. Demento, but that's been a long time.... those out there will know what I mean by hardware.

[quote author="irvine123" date=1235456255]Tumi...best quality, last for a long time....

+1

Tumi rocks. I have a travel weekend bag. Best bag I have ever owned.

Just use it as carry on. Otherwise.

Its NUMBER ONE for stolen as a check in.

I just checked Tumi, but they don't have anything for an HDX18...although they at least have it in their "finder" dropdown list. But they are twice as expensive as Tom Bihn's bags.
