What car do you drive?

Uh-hem. I drive a CRV, not an Odyssey. I'm not in the mini-van club and purposefully so. I once heard a man say how unfortunate it is that once women have children they cut their hair short and start driving a minivan. I refuse to do either.

Are you happy with your CRV? I am actually looking into that car. I am not big of that big boxy Honda. It sort of looks like a Super Mario Car.

For those who dislike mini-vans... if you have kids (even babies)... drive one and you will realize it's the best vehicle in the universe.

EVERY family car needs automatic sliding doors.

Go with the Benz Panda. Its more, but well worth it. Reliability, safety and comfort. Also changing your oil every 13K miles is fun too.

BMWs are the best cars ever made in my humble opinion. Mercedes will always come second place compared to Beemers.</blockquote>

I am also a member of the Odyssey club. You probably won't feel the need for one until the second kid comes though. By that time you are a full fledged member of the family club, so you no longer even consider the status of your new vehicle, you just know you like it and it works.

You might be thinking of the Honda Pilot. The CRV is compact by comparison and I don't consider it boxy. I absolutely love this car. It has nice headroom and good legroom which is particularly nice if you are tall. Great handling, wonderful visibility, and AWD. It feels like a bigger car than it is but it can conveniently still be parked in compact spaces. Mine is now 10 years old and I love it just as much as the first day I drove it. It has held up extremely well. I've never had a problem and it's never needed more than basic maintenance. I consider it a great family car.

Thanks no_vas for the new avatar.

you don't need a minivan with one kid, but when the second one arrives, the best thing to have IS a mini van. However, when the second one turns three or older, you really don't need the minivan anymore if you can find a SUV/crossover with third row seats ( so you can haul their play dates, etc). We have just gone through that.

Odyssey drives great, but odyssey is the noisiest vehicle on the highway I have ever experienced. That being said, hondas are generally much nosier than toyota, Lexus, BMW, and MB.

I didn't notice either. I just figured that BK was a good guy, so I answered blindly.</blockquote>

Ok, You got me this time Winex.. In this poll, I was pretending to be bkshopr. Haha! Winex wrote before, "Stop it Panda!"

Hmmmm, that's really interesting that Hondas are the most popular car so far. :) Good gas mileage, practical, not showy, and modest. I'm really impressed by the results.

You guys are awesome!</blockquote>

Panda,

I saw you protest that you were not someone who needed an intro stats class, but I have to point out sample size.... you quote samples with only 1 vote... dude, means nothing if you only have one or two votes for a category. Your margin of error is like 20 points with 1 vote in sample of this size.

and everyone was kung foo fighting, in fact it was a little bit frightening. And everyone was kung foo polling, in fact it was a little too invading.

Do it Panda! I've owned beemers since I bought my first (very very used) 325 in high school! Rock solid reliability (I drove that one to 140,000 miles before selling it, only minor repairs!).

Sure sometimes I lust after something more exotic, but when I sit into my leather sport seats in my 3 coupe, crank up the logic7, and floor the inline six, I can't imagine being more satisfied by any other car.

(well, maybe an m3 ;-))
