We also have the LG Tromm steam washer/dryer and absolutely love both. we have a dog and use the sanitary cycles for the dog blankets, both the washer and dryer deal with the pet hair well. Our old washer just left the dog hair on the clothes. It was a bit pricey but worth it and we received our rebate check from the water company in today's mail. We received $310.00 in rebates...although it took 3 months to receive the check. Be sure to check with your local utilitiy company before making your purchase to ensure you get a qualified model.
 
We just got the Kenmore Elite He5T washer one month ago and we love it. It really cleans way better than our old top-loader and it is so super quiet. I can't hear it when I am standing in the next room. I read that gardenweb site before we bought the machine and was absolutely terrified about purchasing it...everyone complaining about the smell... But SO insisted. So far so good smell-wise...
