Per my wife:
The USGS went to substantial trouble to create accurate maps. You can do your own research and determine whether or not they are accurate. Have fun with that, but understand your insurance company goes by this map help to determine how much your coverage is, what your rate is, whether or not you need flood insurance, and how much to charge you for said coverage.
In short, ignore this map at your own peril.
If it's not blue or green you're in good shape. FWIW, my home is in the white zone and 5KM from the nearest fault.
