Congratulation on your promotion from Parking Patrol to Caddy. Hope that you will someday be John's top agent!</blockquote>

[quote author="PadreBrian" date=1210663536]Why did they sell the models?

I drove by the other day...and no models. They have about 10 lots left.

btw, who the hell are buying these places?</blockquote>

They are bad and no models. Most are not occupied. I drove by there at night and hardly any lights.

I not really sure what Shea Homes is going to do. They have 4 house under construction now...and like you said they have a half dozen that are just empty. The loan for the retaining wall and land is probably killing them. Maybe they got the land dirt cheap or something...but if that was the case won't they just put up starter homes or condos?

It's not Asian friendly either. The tiniest of parks. Basically, a 1/4 lot with a bench and 8' of grass! No fountains, no large trees...just a pink Great Wall of Santa Anna!!!

(btw, i'm not asian, but i think the same way).

bk, look. i'm now unofficially a resident!

PB,

I totally agree with you. Shea thinks Retreat in close proximity to Floral Park amenities such as trees and park could be stripped and would not make a difference to its curb appeal. Shea is so wrong. People attracted to Floral Park are looking for character to their home and neighborhood aesthetic. The residents are willing to endure the negativity of Santa Ana's reputation as well as the lack of good schools and retail amenities when they could well afford Irvine or the Coastal locations. Case in point, This group hated the cookie cutter and tract homes but Shea violated the cardinal rule and built exactly the opposite. Buyers who are willing to live in tract cookie cutter houses the community must be really good.

Sorry Acpme,

Can you move your tent? I will have to pour my 25 car subterranean garage post tensioned slab today. You are certainly welcome to use my eco friendly detached master bath out house.

I want that kitchen!

[quote author="EvaLSeraphim" date=1218938616]That is one of the better designed kitchens I've seen in a new home in awhile. It's seems to be designed for people who actually cook.</blockquote>
I would love to see this kitchen in person. Maybe I'll take a road trip.

I've had small kitchens and big kitchens. Whenever you entertain, everyone always ends up in the kitchen - no matter the size.

I like the breakfast nook idea. Maybe that would keep the guests out of the kitchen working area while still feeling they are part of the action.

Although when I was younger I tried to do everything myself so the guests could enjoy themselves. As I get older I make them "part of the action" and put them to work. I actually think the guests enjoy it more when they can help. They keep coming back anyway.

I visited this model a while back. The kitchen does flow nicely. I agree that everyone always ends up in the kitchen, it can be particularly annoying when there's no room for them and they won't get out! Thanksgiving in my house comes to mind. It would be great to have that kitchen.
