The Ways & Means Committee will request Trump's tax returns.

This will undoubtedly end up before the Supreme Court.  If Congress can pull and leak the President's returns, they could also pull a Supreme Court Justice's returns if they don't vote properly on a big case..  It hits a little close to home.  What do you think?  7-2 split?  8-1?

Aside from the legal issues, I thought Democrats were committed to maintaining the institutions of democracy?  How do they justify leaking the returns of a political enemy? (Answer: Cognitive dissonance)

Washington (CNN) President Donald Trump on Wednesday fired Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

"At your request I am submitting my resignation," Sessions wrote in a letter to White House chief of staff John Kelly.

Look at the key words ?at your request?

The acting AG will not be recused, so Rod Rosenstein is effectively out as Mueller's supervisor.  Getting the new AG confirmed is also made more expeditious with the larger Republican majority.

Trump attorneys ask Stormy Daniels to pay nearly $800G in legal fees, penalties
Attorneys for President Trump asked a court Monday for nearly $800,000 in lawyers? fees and penalties from adult-film actress Stormy Daniels for the failed defamation lawsuit against him.

Attorney Charles Harder defended more than 500 hours his firm spent that rang up a nearly $390,000 legal bill for the president and asked for an equal amount in sanctions as a deterrent against a ?repeat filer or frivolous defamation cases.?

Harder said the fees and penalties were earned because of the extraordinary nature of the defamation case.

?This action is virtually unprecedented in American legal history,? Harder wrote in court papers. Daniels ?not only brought a meritless claim for defamation against the sitting president of the United States, but she also has engaged, along with her attorney, in massive national publicity.?

The reimbursement is not what?s on Trump?s mind.

Ivanka used her personal email for government purposes, but that?s ok? (Double standard)

Mike Flynn met with the Special Council Office a whopping 19 times. That?s a lot of times yo!

?Mueller, in a court filing, says Flynn's "substantial assistance" to the special counsel's probe over the past year warrants a light criminal sentence, which could include no jail time.

"The defendant provided firsthand information about the content and context of interactions between the transition team and Russian government officials," the memo says.?

More nothing will come of it...don?t you sense a pattern?

IS THIS IT?: A TRUMP-HATER?S GUIDE TO MUELLER SKEPTICISM

We see the familiar cycle of hype, and there?s no use fighting it, but, once heart rates have slowed, the same old question remains: so what? Some of the news, such as a Guardian story that Manafort met three times with Julian Assange, seems to be based on nothing at all. But even the solid news turns out to be generally non-earth-shattering. As the journalist Aaron Mat? has been pointing out, we already knew the timeline of Cohen?s Moscow efforts, because BuzzFeed had already detailed them in May, painting a picture of a bumbling duo getting high on their own supply. (As for the latest revelations, did Sater and Cohen really think a president of Russia would move into a free $50 million penthouse provided by a U.S. presidential candidate? You have to wonder if they were hitting each other on the head with bricks.) Those who hope that Mueller reveals a shambolic operation with a lot of rascals engaged in sleazy and embarrassing behavior will be happy with the fruits of his labors. But those who hope for an unveiling of indictments linking Putin and Trump in a grand conspiracy have no more reason to celebrate than they did a week or a month ago.

Wait...you are quoting from an article mocking Trumpsters to support your contention that the Mueller probe is nothing?

Boston globe article re: Trump?s dealings in Russia
During the campaign, Trump insisted repeatedly that he had no business dealings in Russia. However, according to Cohen?s statement, he continued to pursue the Trump Tower Moscow project weeks after Trump secured the Republican nomination for the president.

In his tweet, Trump stated he ?lightly looked at doing a building somewhere in Russia? but put up ?zero money, zero guarantees and didn?t do the project.?

Cohen said he discussed the proposal with Trump on multiple occasions and with members of the president?s family, according to court papers filed by special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating Russian interference in the presidential election and possible coordination with the Trump campaign.

He said he lied to be consistent with Trump?s ??political messaging.??
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bo...ilding-russia/oso8zNBVKuYSEiHXJ99TuM/amp.html

Note: It came from Trump?s twitter account considered or shall I say lightly looked about a Russia deal.

Does a person lightly look at building a real estate project in a foreign country? (Jeesh)
If you and I were going to devlop a building better yet in a foreign country we would do our due dlilegence, possibly secure funding, etc.. Also, get regulatory approval from the foreign government to build the project. (Wink wink)

Financial Times article Re: Putin official confirms Cohen contacted Kremlin over Trump Tower Moscow

?Spokesman says Trump?s former lawyer sought help about potential Moscow property project

Donald Trump?s former lawyer Michael Cohen contacted the Kremlin twice to seek assistance for a potential Trump Tower property project in Moscow, Vladimir Putin?s spokesman has said, in the first confirmation from Russia of the approaches.

Mr Cohen, who worked as Mr Trump?s personal lawyer for more than a decade, pleaded guilty on Thursday of lying to Congress about the Moscow project which he pursued during the 2016 presidential election.

Dmitry Peskov, Mr Putin?s spokesman, told reporters that his office had received two emails from Mr Cohen in January 2016 requesting a meeting with Sergei Ivanov, then Mr Putin?s chief of staff, or Mr Peskov himself to discuss the project.

?Indeed, Mr Cohen made some requests, in which he said his company had actually planned to construct a building in Moscow and was unable to establish necessary business contacts,? Mr Peskov said, in remarks reported by Russian news agencies. ?They asked that a meeting be organised with Sergei Ivanov, the head of the presidential administration at the time,? Peskov said.

?There were only these two emails. And we called them back in response,? Mr Peskov said. ?We called them back and asked what the presidential administration has to do with that and whether they are aware who they contacted.?

Mr Peskov showed the emails, signed by Mr Cohen and requesting ?assistance? with the real estate proposal, to Russian reporters travelling in the Kremlin pool to the G20 meeting in Buenos Aires.

Mr Cohen and a member of Mr Peskov?s office had a 20-minute phone call regarding the project, Mr Cohen said this week.

?We told them that the Presidential Administration doesn?t build houses, and if they want to invest in Russia that we will be happy to see them at the St Petersburg Economic Forum,? Mr Peskov said.?

My comment: This is confirmation that Cohen spoke to someone from the Russia government regarding the real estate proposal.

That article is a great read:

Also, Cohen's testimony confirms that The Tang Menace did not have an Ultra Sekret Back Channel to them Rooskies. Cohen appears to be running his own side show, trying to get something going on this through the clumsiest way possible. That isn't election collusion, but dumbassery - neither of which are punishable crimes. Mueller needs to show conspiracy to get a conviction. Everything else is simple noise.
