I remember my parents scaring me with a bamboo stick when I got a B+ in elementary.  Don't think I got anything less than an A- afterwards

I am really interested to see what kind of closet has a lock on it and especially in Costa Mesa where many homes have strip closets with just sliders.

You are special and that is why you live in Irvine. Why would a parent have a bamboo stick in the house? Did the bamboo stick have another household purpose other than punishment?
