I want to say the week after its opening in January.

So they just randomly call you up out of the blue after what, 5 months?

I don't get these "out of the blue" comments.  People get on a wait list for the new homes.  Then when it's their "turn", they get called.  Depending on the development and when you sign up, you can get called pretty quickly, after a few months, or in the case of some (ie. Lambert Ranch's Field), never.

Are you still waiting by the phone for that guy you gave your number to 5 months ago to call?  It must not be your "turn" yet.

Thank you for the inputs.
Just purchased the house last weekend!
Now I'll have to patiently wait while mortgage rate picks up..............  >:(

Congratulations! What plan did you get and what price did you pay?

Cambria Residence 2. Originally wanted Residence 1 but they are not building that right now.
Base price was $583k with pre-packaged $9k upgrade and backyard landscaping.
I don't mind the mandatory upgrades since most of them are what I would've picked.
Will have to upgrade the flooring though...

What is included in the pre-package upgrade?

You seem pretty confused about the concept of a wait list.  Have you been eating too many fruits and vegetables from the toxic wasteland that is Columbus Square?

Congrats OCGirl, Cambria Residence 2 is one of the best floor plans for Sub 600k price in irvine. What is the attached component in your house? (Meaning, only the garage or some part of your house also)

Thank you for your kind words. We thought the floor plan is nice too. I looked at the Stonegate floor plans way too much so when it first came out I was like wait... this looks like a slightly smaller version of San Mateo. It's just the right size for us right now. We are turning the 3rd bedroom into a study with french doors. Keep the 2nd bedroom as a guest room.

It is a duplex so one side is attached. Certain rooms do share walls with the next door neighbor.

No they didn't. A few weeks ago they asked us if we are still interested and we may be up next (next phase release). A week or two later they emailed me to see if I'm interested and if I need to up my pre-approval limit with Wells Fargo since price has gone up since I got pre-approved. I responded promptly and got everything lined up. They called me the following day. So they did send me a few emails before the official phone call I guess. Besides I'm sure those of us who are interested check in with the sales consultants from time to time. They do not give you a lot of time to make your decision though. If you hesitate for a little bit they will move on to the next person.

Ah, that makes sense.  Thanks for clearing that up.  Congratulations on getting the home you wanted.  :)

I was originally interested in Santa Maria before Cambria came out. I was on the list since November of last year. Never got a call from them. I guess it worked out better that way because I actually like Cambria better.

Thanks for the info! If budget is not an issue out of three tracts (Santa Clara/Maria/Cambria) Cambria would be the best townhome in SG. Next up it'll become SFR (San Mateo or other). Cambria will be great for you as for Santa Maria I think all their plans are somewhat "unique" especially plan 2 with that deep pit-like atrium (just imagine when it's midnight and you walked downstairs to get some drink and all of a sudden seeing someone outside that glassed atrium...) and living area layout (if you see the floorplan, I still wonder how I can put the sofa straight to the TV).

Santa Clara is budget friendly (no longer available, they even closed the sales office already), Santa Maria WAS budget friendly (now plan 2 is asking for a few hundred bucks short of 500K). I believe back in March Cambria was asking for around 548K for plan2... the good old days...

It's great that you get a duplex with only one share wall since it'll be less crowed. BTW is your home next to Irvine Blvd or not? I think any home not next to Irvine Blvd will have a $10K location premium.

Again congrats!

We actually looked at Santa Clara too but did not like Plan 3's never ending looking kitchen and Plan 2's sharing the floor with Plan 1 right underneath. I mean honestly they are all beautifully designed homes with quite a modern touch to them (which I like). I do like San Mateo a lot but it's out of the budget and I'm not sure how long the wait list is for that.

Yea price pretty much went up $10k/month since its release. Only if my money tree grows as fast as that....

The location we got is not near any major roads. It's close to the new park between Santa Maria and Mendocino (Egret Park, I think). The park will finish first in 2-3 months. Mendocino is actually very close to our lot. I can sit by the window and drool over the big dreamy homes across the street I suppose  :-*

I was offered a lot in cambria, where it backs to Irvine Blvd, i was in a dilemma, but finally said No. But you know what, they sold those lots with 5000$ Location Premium. This is Irvine, conventional logic doesnt matter.

What's the $5000 location premium for?

OC Girl Just curious, did they charge you for "Elevation" premium?? I just signed a contract and they charged me $5,000 premium for "Elevation".  This stuff should be part of the lot standard.  They just get you left and right.

This is for Cambria? No I didn't get charged an elevation premium, not that I recall. We got the Spanish style elevation. Which elevation did you get?

Haha you are so right.  I think there is some Elevation at Arcadia though.  It's up there overlooking the rest of Stonegate.

I think they charged me $5,000 to put extra 5 inches of dirt over the ground.  They get ya

That's not what elevation means. Elevation means the "style" of the exterior. I specifically asked the sales consultant that. So some of the different elevations we see are Spanish, Classic. I think Cambria has an elevation called Santa Barbara.

If you look closely at the drawings some of the elevations have bigger windows/more windows. I want to say Mendocino one elevation will have a balcoy and another elevation won't have a balcony.

Goriot - are you getting any other upgrades besides to the elevation upgrade?
