Should I buy now...?

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program

arctichaze,

I went and pre-viewed Savannah models.

OMG, I usually respect other people's product and not to make any negative comments. However, I felt it is an ethical thing to say that I think It's will be a resale nightmare! I have never seen any product this poor. I hope the builder would reconsider this type of home design.

Arctichaze....I hope everything works out well for you.

NIR...can you share what you thought was so poorly constructed? If not we understand.

mino2126,

When you buy you must think of resale. No exception here.

First impression is very important. You walk into a home and you have 3 seconds to feel good, so so, or "get me out of here". You know the answer.

This type of homes fit well for bachelors and bachorrettes. You know this period on being single is very short lived.

Contruction is fine. The layout is bad, I felt like throwing eggs at the architects. This type of layout is acceptable if the homes are sitting on the sand or on top of the world.

And the price is not that great.

NIR....so is that how you sell the houses you are the RE for? What if they homeowners are looking for a home that they can raise a family in and grow old in? I might be one of the few but when I buy I will not want to move again for a number of yrs. My family bought their house when I was 5 yrs old, I am not 28yrs old and they still live there.

"NIR....so is that how you sell the houses you are the RE for?"

I would hope my agent looks out for that stuff. Just because I, as a homebuyer, does not care about that so much, does not mean that the agent should not. In fact, I think it is their fiduciary duty to assess whether the home can retain resale value, regardless of what the buyer's horizon is.

mino,

RE agents are just like doctors and lawyers in the sense that they can do everything for your best interest, or for very little. That why I stressed that you must get referral.

Let's put it this way. Down the road after I purchased a home for my client, I would become the listing agent to sell the same house again. Why would I make it hard on myself.

gepetoh is correct. Agents have fiduciary duty to represent their clients to their best interest.

Seventhree,

I still have not been able to get rid of the images: blank walls and more blank walls with no windows, pitched black narrow foyers, narrow boxy rooms, endless straight-up stairs. Basically, it's not inviting.

The only residence that I remotely can resale easily is the both plan 1s. At $480K after upgrades, you are looking at >$500/sq. ft. Very expensive.

And the big buildings and more big buildings. Like a school of fish. I think parking is going to be a nightmare.
