Hoping for another financial crisis anytime soon is like making wishes in a water well.  ;)

I'm definitely not hoping for a financial crisis. As a percentage of net worth my assets are something like:

Home: 200%
Home Equity: 60%
Stocks: 20%
Bonds: 13%
Cash: 5%
Other: 5%
Other Debt: (-3%)

If housing prices crash again I'll lose 60% of my net worth.

I don't get your "breakdown of assets." Usually people break down their assets as a percentage of 100%.

Replace home equity with mortgage -140% and it'll add up.

Just signed up for the 1.25% Palladian savings acct.  Pretty easy application, moving some money over for initial deposit.  Joint acct, so FDIC up to $500,000.  I'll be ready when the market tanks :)

You seem really conservative with your investment selection.

Think I'll buy in if the market continues to dive tomorrow.

What are you looking at/what would you buy?

I bought Apple in the high 98s and plan to get out at 101. Bought whole foods at high 37s and plan to get out at 39.50 to 40. Bought petrobras in the 15.50s, this one I'll hold longer term.

Which broker do you use qwerty?  I had an old sharebuilder acct, just reactivated it.  $6 for the ETF trade this morning.  I think its around $20 for mutual funds.

I use TD Ameritrade. 9.99/trade - I really like their iPhone app. Although if you deposit anything north of 10k just call the local irvine office and give them a heads up about the deposit and they give you 300 free trades. The do have various etfs that you can trade for free.

That's some nice call, looks like aapl just might hit 101 today.

BTW qwerty, just in case you make it out like a bandit want to take a vacation, may I suggest you book this airline for your next trip. ;)http://www.foxnews.com/travel/2014/...ing-vietair-flight-attendants-slammed-before/

thanks. closed at 100.75, thought about selling it, but going to wait for 101.

yeah i saw those vietair pics yesterday or the day before and i asked myself why i never took a vacation to vietnam when i was single.  i could have walked around there with a tshirt imprinted with my w2 and my passport on a platinum chain around my neck and i would have come back to the US with like three of those girls. those flight attendants are hot.
