A little inside scope for you guys...one of my buyers signed up and got pre-approved for San Marino.  Oh man, a few days after they got their pre-approval the phone calls from the sales people started and have not stopped since.  The sales people (2 or 3 different ones) have called them EVERYDAY (my buyer doesn't pick up) asking to set up an appointment to come in and pick out their home.  My buyer is getting very annoyed and doesn't understand why they are being so pushy and annoying.

I hope you TIC lurkers are taking notes and tell your sales people to relax their pressure tactics.

Your buyers are loaded....  $1MM + high mellos?  Wow!

Sigh!! I feel like a lower middle class member in Irvine even with a six figure income. As usual I wonder... from where does all the big money come to Irvine.

I guess TIC will still sell these houses despite my skepticism..

A lot of foreign buyers from Asia.

I know someone that just purchased a home, 1.2mil, all cash. Another friend of mine is looking to purchase in the 750-850k range, all cash as well. Exchange rates are also favorable for some of the Asian countries right now, so if they have a good sum just sitting around (by good I mean huge), plus that it's a relatively good time to buy, they'll look to US real estate.

son of a...  seriously this ridiculous.    I am ghetto fab even though wife and I pull in some pretty good dough...  but I digress... we can't even compete...  My hope/desire would be that we could buy a Carmel/San Marino type house for $750-800K.  I suppose I'm going to have to pray for Armageddon...  oh crap! That means my townhome would be worth $50K...

Tell me about it. I'm pretty discouraged too, especially after the bidding war that was Torrey Pines. I feel like not only is Irvine market high right now, it's also got tons of competition = even higher prices.

Le sigh.

Don't be discouraged. No Irvine home is worth a bidding war. There will be more homes on the market. Hopefully you have enough time to make a careful decision.

Most of my buyers are hard working dual income households (aka non-FCBers).  It's the FCBers that make me feel really poor.  haha

LOL wow, seems like you knew me.

Started my career in IB after undergrad then joined a PE shop during my last year of B-school.  :o

If you guys want to feel like FCB Ballers.... just go out to the IE or Vegas and buy a house for all cash.

Although... that probably is not very good advice.
