Retail Openings and Closures

Bonefish Grill - tried the place this weekend with the inlaws. Very good burger and fries. Fries are very similar to slaters fries actually.  As far as your standard burger goes (tomato, lettuce, onions, ketchup, etc) goes, this ranks quite high. the meat was very juicy (thats what she said).

Chronic Tacos - finally tried this place on saturday night, had the machaca burrito, also very tasty and juicy.

Only qwerter goes to a seafood joint to try order a burger.

No wonder he doesn't go to KBBQ, no burgers on the menu.

You didn't order the chimichanga at Chronic?

I only went to the seafood joint cause the burger was on the menu, otherwise would have nixed it.  Its like you are in my head, The chimichanga is next on my list to try there.  maybe ill try it out this weekend. Have you tried it? Is it good?

Well... at least I know there is something for me to eat at Bonefish Grill... not a seafood fan either.

I don't recall having a chimi at Chronic... that place is just okay to me... would rather eat at Jalapenos... something about that wooden spoon that ps9 is afraid of.

don't hang out on this side of the tracks much anymore do you?

Nope.  Do miss some of the nice things in Irvine though... But it's nice having a little distance between neighbors  :D

There's nice things here?  Compared to where you are now?

More asian food options :)
But that's the catch-22. More Asian food options equals more Asians. :)

meh. not  worth living somewhere for that.  Then you have to live near the folks who frequent those restaurants.

Tis why I left.. Couldn't stand IHO's riff raff.

looks like assi market, the korean market that replaced steinmart at the woodbridge dollar theater shopping area, is going out of business.

Luna Grill will be opening up where Chinez and Conroy's used to be in the center on Alton and Culver. Also opening up next to it is Mod Pizza, which is a build your own pizza place like Blaze Pizza and Pieology.

Not sure when they will be open for business.

Wow, did you see the prices at Tasty Garden!  :o

If anyone goes, please let me know if they have refills on the mixed milk drinks (thai tea, milk tea, coffee/milk tea, etc.)

$3.50 for milk tea seems a bit steep.  ???

I am happy to see places from the SGV start to come out here, but the prices are getting a bit high.

Hopefully better than Koko's Cafe.  I could use a hot coke with lemon, black cow, and a greasy pork chop right now.

Seasons of Japan is open next to Pho So Bad in Westpark Plaza, haven't tried it, might be good for japanese takeout, Gonna try their yakisoba next.  Gaufree will be next to them
I think Seasons of Japan is done. There was a note that said something like The Irvine Company won't let them close so they are just selling bottled drinks.

So weird.

that's sad, tried it once and thought it was too salty and never went back.  we always end up at flamebroiler across the way for our chicken bowls.  gaufree is pretty good, good yelps.  I would say on par with Bruxies
