Recession buster: Take the $5 Irvine Lunch challenge!

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
[quote author="GeorgeO" date=1229749184]Five bucks? How about $3.20!! (including tax)

Del Taco

2 Bean Burritos (Green Sauce) and a Chicken Soft Taco.

(Don't forget the Del Scorcho Hot Sauce)</blockquote>

I also would order the Bean Burritos with Green Sauce, but think a better combination with it is a Cheese Quesadilla.

[quote author="SoCal78" date=1246019994]I just thought this was weird... with the state of the economy, you would think that somebody would not turn down free food, right? I recently went to a Taco Bell and saw a homeless lady sitting near the drive-thru entrance. I bought my lunch and decided to buy her lunch too. I looped back around, held up the bag and called out to her. You know what she said? "Nah! I'm full." <img src="http://www.irvinehousingblog.com/images/smileys/longface.gif" alt="" /> Uhhh... I said, "Well how about you hang on to it for later??" She said, "NAH." I found myself having to beg her to take it. She reluctantly came over and got it.</blockquote>

I bet she wouldn't have turned down a 6-pack.

So true, so true...... what a buzz kill.

go to a fast food joint that has the frequent buyer card, get a blank one, and just stand near the line with your best puppy face. tell the nice newport beach ladies you're hungry but you don't wanna ask for a handout, but if they'd let you have the stamp when they pay for their food...

people are nice when it doesn't cost them anything

That's a great idea for Jersey Mike's as they use a frequent sub card. I need to find some of my old work around the home outfit to look the part.
