The median earnings 10 years out of college:

Stanford    $80,900
Cal Tech    $74,000
USC          $66,100
UC Berkeley$62,700
UCSD        $59,600
UCLA          $59,200
UCI            $55,800

You didn't pick up the most critical piece.  Graduation rate.  For many listed its 90% plus.  UCI is 86%.  UC riverside is 66% and earnings are$48,700.

Has you head outlying, it drops, cal state Sacramento earnings are down to $46,500 but more damaging, their graduation rate is down to 42%

Geez, after 10 years if that is all they are making why even go to college. Kind of depressing

My thoughts exactly.

There are some limitations on the data.  Only draws median salary figures from those with federal loans.  Also, it's one number.  We all know it can vary widely based on field of study and geography.

Not everybody gets a free ride to USC. Like you.

Most are paying thru the nose and getting very little expected financial return.

Also remember it's ten years after entering, not graduating.

Definitely depends on the type of field..

Was reading an alumni posts about median salary for Stanford mba grads are like $200k!  Seems low to me  :P

Are there any rankings in this? 😎

Interesting NY Times article today about the UC system, which still offers the "masses" the best value and opportunity for a high quality education. NY Times created their own "College Access Index" a measure of economic diversity. The index is based on the share of students receiving Pell grants, graduation rates of those students, and net cost after financial aid for low and middle-income students.
