Irvinesinglemom posted in the Blog in January 2007. Back then when she was an active contributor to the Blog before IrvineRenter's infamous manuscript.

Many have cited the floor plans in Irvine being boring and they found the plans in Columbus interesting. Vientos was a project that began to explore other family demographic that was not comprised of mom, dad, 2.3 kids, a pet, and 2 fish. Other families do exist like single moms, dads, gay couples, and single professional. Focus group companies' database has mostly typical family contacts which could skew the results favoring the traditional family buyers while the non-traditional family buyers will continue to be ignored. Brian Martinez's article in the Irvine World News was a valiant attempt to challenge the hypocrisy of the moral curtain in Irvine but severely criticized.

Talked to Debbie at Vientos yesterday. Looks like Vientos is winding down. No more 3 beds and just a few others left. She also confirmed that Decada is also sold out.

What boggles my mind is why anyone would want a house where the master bath has only one sink, and a tiny one at that. I can't imagine a couple living in one room. Are there really that many single people in Irvine who have no thoughts of ever getting married, selling the place to a married couple, or even having an occasional overnight guest?

Get used to it. Dual sinks are a relic of the housing bubble.

Cal Pac's 4/6 packs are light on fixtures but they are usually priced the same or lower than a similarly sized attached condo. Cal Pac also utilizes space very well, no long hallways and giant upstairs laundry rooms in Cal Pac designs. The question is: if a fancy detached home is out of your price range, then for the same price, would you rather live in a simple detached condo or in a fancier attached one?

I bought a home from Debbie Cloninger back in 2000 in an earlier Cal Pac development and she was a pleasure to deal with. She is definitely not your typical new home salesperson. She has an unreal memory, she remembered me by name when I walked into a Cortile model a few months ago (I hadn't seen her in nearly 8 years). I would have bought from her again but this time I was looking for a larger home than Cal Pac's remaining homes.

I just don't think dual sinks is a 'fancy' feature to ask for. And yes, I'd rather have an attached condo with a layout that is livable then a detached one. I wouldn't enjoy going downstairs to get ready for work because the toilet, single sink, and shower are cramed within 5 feet of each other and my wife/gf is getting ready at the same time. I don't even know where you'd put soap and a toothbrush in a sink that small.

This is the "Master" sink in the plan 1/2s:
