Poor Property Tax Planning!

Continuing upon my Propery Tax learning vein I have noticed something else I can only attest to extremely poor planning; paying your property taxes on April 17th, exactly one week past the April 10th deadline, and incurring the $1200 penalty for late payment fees.



Why the heck would somebody do this!?

I seem to recall about 20 yrs ago some a/p clerk at So Cal Edison sent SCE's property tax payments one day late and SCE got assessed millions in penalties.

You can call it a "Prop 13 Adjustment."

Just call them, and tell them the situation. I bet they'll work with you.
