In the process of choosing options for a Piedmont home myself now and had a question about the filtered water system/add on to the kitchen sink. We're considering the built-in fridge, which has no water delivery, so we would like drinking water dispensed easily somewhere else.
Irvine Pacific charges a big premium to have their system added to the kitchen island.

Is it easy and way cheaper to just add later ourselves? Don't really want to cut a new hole into the island post-close (warranty breaker) and not sure if you could use the dishwasher airgap hole. Have heard you could get an adapter? Anyone have experience or advice on this?
Thanks!
