salt water pools still need to be treated with chlorine and they still have a slight chlorine taste.

I heard the great park is going to become one big lion country safari, just get some CL fence around that sucker and release the animals!

thanks for the info about saltwater pools - I just can't imagine it being better than a regular pool - I am envisioning how I feel after the beach - yuck!

Lion country safari! I remember advertisements as a kid and always wanted to go but never got to - never realized it was in Irvine!

it's not like sea water at the beach - i just took a sample from the pool in my complex and it's barely salty, SG about 1.0025 or 3 ppt (sea water runs about 1.027 or 35 ppt). it's more like soft water.

right, i think it's more to mask the chlorine taste, I just took a couple sips from my pool, also tried to see if they have that dye that turns your urine a bright purple, but mgmt chased me out before i could test.

Where can I buy some of that dye, I have a prank in mind...

[quote author="skek" date=1208497754]Could you imagine driving the El Toro Y today and seeing giraffe heads poking above the treets in the distance? Now imagine a lion getting loose and terrorizing Shady Canyon!

I usually don't get nostalgic over stuff like that, but I have fond memories of visiting Lion Country Safari as a kid...</blockquote>

I remember Bubbles the Hippo breaking out with her baby and getting down to the pond off the 133. So that was always named.

Bubbles Pond.

I remember that, too. After the Irvine Amphitheater opened, we used to sneak into the concerts and make jokes about Bubbles coming to get us before we could make the lawn seats.

Man, it was fun thinking you were invincible.
