My shutters/garage door need to be re-painted every couple years.  Please send any reliable painter my way.  Thanks

Does your painter powerwash first? I've tried just powerwashing and if the paint holds up, it looks good as new... someimes a nice alternative to having to paint as often.

Thanks all for the recs, I might be going with one of them, my current painter keeps flaking out..

whats with the PMs on the recommendations?  i would think that the painter would appreciate the exposure and public positive feedback.

Here you go...

Update:  Orlando's painting finished my shutters/garage door today.  Everything looks great.  They prepped/sanded the area well before slapping on two coats of paint.  Started around 8 and finished around 2pm for 5 pairs of shutters and garage door.  Came out to be around $50/hr.  I provided the paint (1 gallon at $50).  I would definitely use them again, like how the person I talk to on the phone actually does the job (instead of a "cousin" that shows up).

thanks Homer for the referral...

@ps:

Did you price compare or was Orlando's the only one you called?

Just wondering if their prices were competitive.

My old painter quoted me $375 for everything including paint, but he wants all cash and the last time he did my house it was a kid who did it while he painted my neighbors house at the same time.  Orlando was cheaper at $300 and I picked up the paint for $50 at Vista.  I was going to go with my old painter but he was slow with phone calls and Homer "vouched" for Orlando so I though it was worth a try.  Orlando has a good work ethic, swept up afterwards, and even took out some leftover ant bait stains that baked into a black spot in front of my house (without me even asking!). His sidekick/assistant was funny too and also has a pleasant work attitude.  Only time/weather can tell if the paint will hold up but so far his superior attention to detail in his work tells me I probably don't have much to worry.

Orlando's prices are very competitive. I shopped around before going with them. My friends cannot believe the price I got for repainting majority of the house. Like others have said, very nice people to work with. They seem to actually enjoy what they do.

I added him to my list of referrals and will get a quote from him when it's my time to get a painter.

Paint looks great, week after..  Makes my neighbors paint look old... I did go for the "glossy" finish at my paint store... seems like my neighbors have flat paint..

That's a really good price to paint shutters.  My old painter wanted $100 per pair of shutters.  I laughed and said I might as well buy all new shutters.  I think I might have to give Orlando a call.
