It's crazy to me to think people who just bought a brand new home are already sick of it and moving to another brand new home. Moving is such a daunting process, can't imagine moving twice in such a short period of time even if it's within the same city.

I've moved 8 times in the past 11 years. I'm a pro at moving. I actually love it. Gives me a chance to purge more useless crap each time.  Plus when you move so often, you really only keep stuff that's useful and gets used.

I think it's okay, since they are moving to OH. (Better investment/less crowded?) However, if they were to move to Baker Ranch, I would have to say something.

Well, my wife and I live in Cypress Village and will be moving to OH.  These are our reasons so obviously they may not be important to all:

1.  Cypress village school: I'm sure Portola High will be an excellent school but located on a toxic site and right next to the largest jail in OC.  I know this has been discussed ad nauseum here but i have young kids and I won't risk it.

2. Cypress Village proximity to noise and pollution:  great park--again toxic ground and radioactive facility. An excellent view of the bowers landfill up sand canyon.  immediately close to the 5 freeway etc...

3. Resale value: who knows but in light of #1 and 2 above, we believe OH may have a higher ceiling in the future. 

4.  Landscaping: subjective but we didn't like cypress village or stonegate due to the flat topography with endless rows of homes and lack of any view

Anyway, these were our reasons and everyone will agree to disagree

No, Musick is the SMALLEST jail in O.C. Theo Lacy in Orange is the largest.

# of beds:
Musick = approx. 1,250 (estimates range from 1,250 to 1,322 depending on the source)
Central Jail Complex in Santa Ana = 2,664
Theo Lacy = 3,100 to 3,442 maximum capacity

Musick will add 512 beds next year. After that expansion, it will still serve the least number of inmates in the county.

Oh...  I'm always off on my jail numbers!  Damnit,  why am I always so wrong about a jail near the high school and the number of beds at musick?  God, when will I ever get my jail numbers right? I just have such low esteem about my jail knowledge.....

Sorry, Doc. Didn't mean to piss you off. Just trying to help. The jails are an interest of mine... I went through the warden's training program / orientation at the HQ that the Christian missionaries, attorneys, tutors, etc. attend in order to get security clearance to visit the jail so I know a little bit about them. Plus, I'm a fan of the show "Lockup" which sometimes features O.C. jails. If there's something I've posted that isn't accurate, feel free to correct me and we can discuss in a friendly way.
