Orchard Hills Homes

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
TUSD just attached a $115 MILLION bond to OH.

Adopt Resolution No. 14-1-02 to incur bonded indebtedness in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed One Hundred Fifteen Million Dollars ($115,000,000) within proposed Community Facilities District No. 14-1 of the Tustin Unified School District.

How much is the IUSD bond going to be for the homes East of Culver? IUSD still needs to cover the cost of a new school in OH.

Keep in mind this new bond is in ADDITION to an existing $90.5 MILLION bond TUSD already has on OH.

It looks like TUSD is reaching across Culver. I'm guessing the IUSD side won't be developed until the Tustin side is sold. It seems awkward to be so close to Northwood HS yet go to Beckman HS.

Beckman is rated higher than Northwood. Both are in the top 3% of all CA high schools. No irvine high school made the top 1%. Check out the ranking in IHO's US News thread in Education.

Wow! $240m in bonds just for part of OH?!? Is this normal? Seems like a lot of money for one school. Is TUSD subsidizing capital funding for the whole district via this bond? Are there more TUSD schools planned for OH to justify this debt?

Don't be surprised. TUSD students will get iPads thanks to measure S. Lol

They need to hire tech support staff to service all these ipads.

and do they have to be ipads? cant they be some ASUS tablet or something

then you'll have the public school students complaining they cannot d/l apps they want (e.g. games) since they are not using them for school work anyway  ;)

yeah what are the tablets used for? are they downloading their school text books onto these instead of getting real books? i doubt it as that would mean less spending.

To throw money at the problem - these kids are not creating awards for the school districts, so blame their tools instead of their motivations and home situations.

Must be why Irvine USD is paying a research firm to plan their even higher bond offering for next June's primary election.

Does anyone know if these homes in Orchard Hills will be designated as being in a Fire Zone?  If so, what would be the incremental cost to insure homes in this area?  Thanks.
