Any one waiting to buy at the great park, you should just come down to Tustin legacy, we just have regular contamination, not a superfund site  :)
But Tustin Legacy has that unsightly hangars with wall full of asbestos.

many homes in irvine and elsewhere in the US still have asbestos.  in our last rental built in 71, the wrap around the venting in the attic was asbestos. we found this out when we had an electrician install an exhaust fan in the master bathroom. i then did research on this and as long as you dont disturb the asbestos and make it airborne you are ok, it is when it is disturbed and it becomes airborne in your house that creates the issues. so as long as the asbestos in those walls is not disturbed there is no issue. i believe one of the hangars is coming down and the other is going to have an ice rink in there and some other stuff.

in any event im pretty sure superfund site > asbestos filled walls.

$160 million into Agran's pocket?

I guess the party is over, it was nice while it lasted. The Great Park has not that much to show for but I have to say some of the events (like the anniversaries with the fireworks or the halloween festivals) were great and I will miss them.

"An L.A. Times analysis calculated that of the more than $200 million spent on the park, only about $38 million can be traced to in-the-ground improvements"

Wow...wish there were video high lights of the City Council meeting. I am happy the new majority is cleaning house. It sounds like it is well overdue. I hope it is not too late to rescue the Great Park.
