Hmm... I knew that VW owned Audi and that the Porsche Cayenne is really a rebadged Touareg but I had no idea how many "luxury" brands VW owns... Lamborghini, Bentley, Bugatti... etc.

Dang... Fahrvergn?gen Domination.

Oof it was crowded... more than I remember from previous years (although that was probably over 3 or 4 years ago).

I think every maker was there (the last time we went, MBZ wasn't there).

I even ran into some people I haven't seen in a while... and no... there was no blonde woman following me around that I could see.

I forgot that it's better to park in the back parking lot (off of West) than the front one off of Katella. The back parking lot is a shorter distance to the back entrance of the show.

I didn't see the Transformers this time... but I think they are there. And it's pretty cool now that they let you actually test drive the cars (outside in a different area).

Mrs. IHO came away more confused than going in... and of course... all the ones she likes were the expensive ones and are made in Germany.

Were you disappointed or relieved?  :)

I went to the show yesterday.

The Jeep ride / obstacle course was pretty crazy. It was fun to watch but rougher than I thought it would be. I came a bit unglued. The driver was a tad unprofessional. He turned to Mr. SoCal to say, "You've got yourself a screamer, huh?" I didn't think that was very cool. He also seemed to be driving a little extra crazy just to freak me out.

We met Optimus Prime. The website and map both showed there was going to be an actual Transformers ride there until 4 p.m. but there was no such thing.

We just got a car but are thinking of getting another. I went partially because I had a pang of regret at not looking at more cars before buying mine (the grass is always greener...) and also to see what else is out there for a second purchase. I'm really glad I went. I was pretty much instantly relieved I bought what I did. The alternative turned out to fall short of my expectations.

Due to the talk here on the TI boards, I had to look at the Volt.  ;) They were really smart with the battery placement compared to, say, the Civic hybrid. Instead of eating up trunk space, putting the obnoxious battery in the rear, it's icognito, running down the center, flanked by sporty bucket seats.

We ran out of time before I could make it to the luxury car wing.

Oh, yeah. We had to laugh at this one "brainy looking" gentleman making his friend take a picture of him with the tall, blond Acura model.

Heh... I can understand that... but taking pictures with an Audi Q7 I did not understand. It's just an Audi... and you can see them in almost any parking lot in Orange County. It's not like it's a Fisker or the Darth Vader car (did you see that one?).

Darth Vader car?  :( I think I missed it. What area was that in?

Iho, I must know if you scaled the rock wall.

It was to the right where all the independent vendors and customized cars were:

I doubt it would support my girth. We were too busy looking at cars to do the extracurricular stuff... we saw the Jeep course but didn't wait around to try it.

I hate to admit it but I really liked the looks of all the Hyundais at the auto show. Ugh. They've really stepped up their game in recent years. Why can't Honda do that. I'm so bored to tears.  :'(

Are we done sharing photos of the auto show? I know it's long over but I do still have a pic of a huge Optimus Prime and some vehicles... If anyone wants to post their pics, go ahead. The FB page doesn't have a lot from this year.

I didn't really take any other than the Darth Vader car... we were just there to see how they "fit"... for pictures we can look at the websites for each vehicle.
