Number "114" or wait ?

I know it relates to "death", but I don't speak Cantonese, so I didn't know that it relates to the PRONUNCIATION of the number 4.

To be honest, my initial reaction was a sigh and an eye roll at first, too. But then, I started imagining that I moved to China and I bought a house where my address was "die bitch die". Even though I'm not superstitious, that would be really annoying.

That phrase is just a bit more aggressive than simply "death," no?

Our old home address was 46, sounds like death road or dead end in mandarin.  I'm Chinese.  Our buyer who paid full asking price in cash was mainlanders Chinese.  Didn't even come up.
