UPDATE: Chase spokesman Tom Kelly explained that the foreclosure auction was not in error, because the mortgage on Ms. Ramirez?s house had not been paid for some time. However, court clerical errors led to Ms. Ramirez?s eviction. Mr. Kelly said the sale was reversed on June 17, but the new buyer received title from the clerk?s office on June 23, and the right to take possession was granted by the court on July 28. Attempts were made to contact the new owner about the change, Mr. Kelly said.
